No Indo-Pak cricket in 2016: BCCI secretary

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary on Tuesday wrote off resumption of bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan in 2016.

Thakur clearly said the two arch rivals will face-off only in big international tournaments.
“No series planned against Pakistan this year. India will only play against them in multi-national tournaments,” Thakur told ANI.
The arch rivals were scheduled to play a bilateral series in December last year in the UAE, according to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and BCCI in 2014.
However, the series could not take place after BCCI stepped back from the accord.
Pakistan and India will lock horns in the T20 Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 in 2016.
The former will be held in Bangladesh from February 24 while the latter will take place in India from March 8.
Pakistan and India last played a full bilateral series in 2007. However, Pakistan toured India for a short series in 2012.

Re: No Indo-Pak cricket in 2016: BCCI secretary

I really don't follow cricket religiously anymore, but I do have some concerns about the pakistani attitude.

Fine, if BCCI agreed to something then make a wavela and take it to PCB, but what is with the paki begging for an indian series?

Are PCB such cheap whores that they would do anything for an indopak series for a few bucks as they do pull in the crowds?

I thought Pakistan / PCB would have some shame considering all the ghairat brigades but this is worse than shameless. I say that Pakistan no more asks for any BCCI series, but just go to ICC if there are breach of contracts. Considering that it was Sethi and PCB, I doubt that Pakistan signed any ironclad contracts that could net tour loss compensation or points on the board if India refuses to play Pakistan for the next 10 years.

Why not pull out of the T20 World Cup. There are genuine concerns for safety of Pakistani players.
