[FONT=Times New Roman]Three teenage sad and gloomy heart broken daughters through letter to editor have cried for their ailing old aged bed ridden mother Parveen Akhtar Chaudhary. She taught Chemistry at Bachelor and Master levels at College of Education Karachi for 25 years. She spent her youth teaching this scientific subject to thousands many of whom today must be top scientific and medical professionals and may be Secretaries, Director Generals or even the Ministers. All these appear to not knowing if not caring that their mother teacher has not even got her pension and gratuity. She has a brain tumor developed speedily due to her depression for not getting her pension and financial worries. My heart practically is bleeding for these teenage daughters who are like my own daughters. I wonder how without hurting their feelings I can help them? On this injustice I have no words to express my feeling and frustration but at the same time I can not stop saying that this is all due to both individual and collective lethargy of the society including myself and these three daughters. The point is when did these daughters on time of national civic demands ever cared to fulfill their own obligations? The country has been put in chaos by rolling back the judiciary, single man rule emergency has been imposed, people’s voice namely media has been silenced. Whose loss all this is? Not of political parties, advocates or judges alone but ultimately of all of us. Did these teenage daughters feeling their civic obligations expressed their protest on these illegal acts by hungry rulers by raising their voice through anyway e.g letter to editor, putting a comment on geo net web site, coming out on street for an hour or two on any protest call by any party etc? When we the people of streets and masses do not care or speak for example on terminating Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhary, Justice Rana Baghwandas, Khawaja Sharif etc then why should me and these teenage daughters expect there would a justice in timely release of pensions in the absence of a Iftikhar Mohammad Choundhary amongst us. The day immediately switching off of our entertainment series Saas Bee Khabee Bahoo Thee, Kasuri we came out in street on pulling of hairs of an Ifikthar Mohamed Choudhary or locking the main door of a justice Khawaja Sharif, non pension will be held even there would be no load shedding. Then no Musharraf or General Rashid Qureshi will ever perform harramUmra on state expense.
