No Fast Bowler For India !!!!

India could not produce ** one genuine fast bowler** in last 75 or more years. Isn’t it pathetic of them or what??

In contrast Pakistan which was originally part of India about 54 years ago has consistently produced real genuine fast bowlers.

Why India sucks in this entertaining discpline of cricket?

Chalo maan liyaa, Pakistan is a GREAT country.. khoosh bachche!!

I agree with you analyze... maybe it has to do with my cousin's theory that diet makes a difference... vegetarian versus non-veggie... and the interesting thing is that one of the quicker indian bowlers, zaheer khan, is a non-vegetarian (maybe thatswhy he is not in the team!!!)

Two minds are better than one... specially if both of them are mine!!!

I don’t agree with this veggie theory … I have played against pretty fast veggie Indian bowlers .. they sure have smaller physique compared to non-veggie Pak players but that is not really a big factor … take for example Sami he is pretty lean .. on the other hand Parasd have the height and size but no pace … so size does help but it does make u fast necessarily .. Marshall was faster that Garner! The main reason being the encouragement and lack of proper pitch … in Pakistan’s case Imran Khan legendary status have inspired many to bowl at pace .. but Pak pace is so different from Australian pace .. cause we don’t bowl on fast wickets .. and the new pacers have no idea where to put the ball .. it is very easy to play fast bowl .. only line and length and late swing makes it harder … India needs some local inspirations, Gavaskar and Tandulakar have generated a whole generation of bating crickters … will Zaheer or non-effective but fast Srinath will do?

Hey one more thing
These things are hard to explain
For some it seems strange... to swallow
The frontier of our minds
Is the last place we find
But maybe the first place we should go

Hahaha… u guys are funny.

BTW, as far as I know, only Brahmins are vegetarians, but I am not sure, maybe all of them are.

I was never too impressed by the speed of Kapil Dev, but he was a wily customer with lots of deception. Or maybe he got so many wickets because there was no other decent bowler in Indian team.

Its untrue to say India has no fast bowlers. They do. Perhaps not of the same speed and quality as some in Pakistan.

Allah ka shukr karro aur ziyada deengain na maaro!

I think they are a "sust qaum". Good only in front of the monitor copying german source codes for the americans.

They're infact **** scared of Wasim, Waqar and Shoeib...

You can only paint with the colors you're given...
...so get what you like and like what you have.

Veggie/Non-Veggie thing is all bakwaash.
Here is what I think is the reason....

A cricket selector in India will typically wait for a budding young fast bowler to perform consistently in first-class matches before picking him for the national team. Now first class matches in Indian are mostly played on dead wickets and its difficult(if not impossible) for a fast bowler to be among wickets in every single match.Spotting talents rightaway has NEVER been the hallmark of Indian selectors who are obsessed with end-of-the-day statistics.
And secondly even when a prospective fast bowler gets picked for the Indian team(nowadays mostly on his MRF Pace Academy background), he is expected to start performing and take wickets straightaway or he is dumped after being played for just a few matches( Vivek Razdan,Salil Ankola,Doda Ganesh,Paras Mambhrey etc. are all cases in point). So if a fast bowler is making his international debut on Indian wickets, his days are numbered, more often than not.
Contrast this to Pakistan... Akram and Waqar were spotted by Imran Khan and were taken into the national team even though they had not played many first-class matches at that point.Imran was not only a player-selector but also served as a role model for future bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar/Sami/Mohammad Akram etc. . No player did or could do anything like that in India.Imran ,so to say, is the single most important reason in the difference today in the crop of fast bowlers in Pakistan and India.Even Pakistan did not have any noteworthy fast bowler before Imran.

While on the subject of selection, I am also peeved at rampant regionalism in Indian cricket team selection. The selection committee in India comprises of selectors from all zones(North,South,East,West and Central). Typically a selector from a particular zone will try his best to get as many fellows from his zone as possible into the national team without looking at the overall picture.(A selector does this so that his nomination in the selection committee from that zone is not endangered.).Seldom will you ever find that a particular zone is not represented in the team.

While we, the muslims, spare no opportunity to criticize others for racism and racist slurs, we feel its our divine right to condemn a whole nation without a second thought. And then when its retaliated in a same manner, we are furious and demand instant action from the moderators to kick out the trouble-makers.

And how does the "source code" related to the topic under discussion? Are you designing new fast bowlers in the lab, these days? Jeez!

Points to ponder, indeed. Many of these points can be applied to Pakistan too.
However, I would tend to disagree about the notion of no fast bowler before Imran. Khan Mohammad and Fazal Mahmood were pretty fast.
There must be something else about fast bowler infertility inflicted by India. I am still not sure. Any more theories?
