Being self-critical and introspective is an admirable trait. But people are rarely introspective. Instead, without looking at their own flaws, they make negative generalizations about whole groups. You know the whole adage of not throwing stones, if one lives in glass houses? That’s the whole point is! An observation is one thing, but sweeping generalizations are another and absolutely I’ll take the time to point out the hypocrisy.

If you take this logic then nothing can ever be discussed because everyone has faults and negative traits and woukd be labeled a hypocrite becuase no one is perfect. Generalizations are bad when they actually cause prejudice against that group, but discussing and editorializing trends in behavior is NOT a bad thing as its made out to be on this forum. Discussions about human behavior provides a lot of insight and better understanding of why people are doing what they’re doing and when girls get defensive every time a female behavior is questioned it stifles discussion and understanding of their perspective.
