PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and soon-to-be Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pervez Khattak on Friday said that the coming provincial government was ready to hold talks with the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants.
We have no enmity with the Taliban, said the PTI central Secretary General. He said the Taliban were also Pakistanis and that they request the militant group to hold peace talks and work for peace in the region.
“We appeal to Taliban that we are not at war with you, this province is yours and we are hopeful you will work for its peace.
“We are not against anyone and not here to fight anyone, we want peace and development in our province and we want to talk to them, ” he said.
Pervaiz Khattak also said that they should be given a chance to settle the problem.
“Our request to them is that we want peace in the province and that they should extend to us their help,” Khattak said.

Err I guess that you (CM to be) must be talking about the “afghan taliban”, though they are not completely against helping TTP at times and vice versa, since TTP has killed thousands of Pakistanis and also refused the constitution and laws of Pakistan which is a direct attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan.
Btw, what peace would achieved or is it that more Pakistanis would be at pieces if looking for the right word? Lashkar jhangvi are pakistanis as well with many supporters that come from a certain ideology so why not pieces talk with them?

it is quite simple. Currently all gung-ho strategy is not working and leadership in KPK (as well as federal) needs to think outside the box.
and it does not mean taliban is our friends all of a sudden. They will be isolated through tribal leaders.
We have negotiated with them in the past (re: Swat) and they decided to expand to buner against the stated agreement since they poo poo the pakistani constitution and society.
And what tribal leaders? Many have been killed by taliban and any that are left probably don't have the appetite to risk their lives. If PTI really cares for FATA, then they should go for repealing FCR and have local bodies there as malik system has collapsed and failed to contain the taliban.

So you suggest an all out war, tanks, gunship helicopters, suicide bombs to rule the province? If PTI brings them to negotiation table then the conditions must include laying-down all arms as starter.

How about treating criminal activities as criminal here? Isn’t the whole purpose of the dharma in Karachi just that? Might as well “talk” with mqm regarding rigging etc or are they not Pakistanis anymore or never were?
