No end to loadshedding in Pakistan: Kaira
**

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, while briefing the media on electricity shortfall, said that even if all available resources of Pakistan are applied, we will not be able to put an end to loadshedding.

Attributing the shorftall to previous governments, Kaira said that the real cause of loadshedding was that no electricity projects had been initiated between 1996 and 2008, adding that since 2007, there has been an annual increase of 1,600MW in electricity demand.

It took them 4-n-half years to find out that they won’t be able to put an end to load-shedding in the country, come what may. I wish this good news would have come directly from our honourable prime minister.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

jhoot bolay Kaira ko kawwa katay, he should be able to access Wikipediaand figure out how many projects were started. But incompetent, liars, corrupt ministers will only hide information. Government will rather spend on sending 100s of people to England, caravans of travelers at government expense, stay in expensive hotels but when it comes to paying bills of power producers in Pakistan they will just run away.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

But the government has been giving good news that they have added over 3000 MW to the electricity grid during the past 4 and a half years?

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

Its always the past governments that do the wrongdoings.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

What Kaira meant that till PPP is in govt, there isn't going to be any end to any of the sufferings. Kaira should have saved his energy, we knew till PPP is in power, relief would be a fantasy..

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

Will it make any difference if the govt. departments pays their outstanding dues?

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

what's Pakistan current energy shortfall?

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

It varies between 4500 to 6000 MW.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

yes, huge difference.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

Back in 2008, Pakistan energy shortfall was around 3000MW. they could have easily resolved this issue by building more dams and power plants. I remember reading somewhere that Pakistan has great potential to generate energy using wind. just recently, US gave 280m for mangla and Tangi dam, I’m sure they were given funds many times before, where do all these fundings go? in their pockets?:halo:just today, our new PM says, power crisis will improve soon, really? how? I mean who are they trying to fool here. they couldnt resolve this issue in four years. I dont expect them to resolve it in their remaining tenure.

Re: No end to loadshedding: Kaira

By “soon” he means let PPP one more tenure in next elections, PPP will make sure all industry is dead, people go back to the olden golden days without electricity, use coal irons for pressing, wood stoves for cooking… na rahay gaa baans, naa bajay gi baansuri.

**Stakeholders suggest use of molasses to generate power.

**ISLAMABAD: Realising the current gravity of energy crisis, a meeting on Monday suggested the government to ban the export of molasses and utilise the commodity for power generation in the country.

The government has planned to generate power from 1000 MW to 1500 MW from cheaper sources like molasses under the power co-generation policy by the sugar mills.

so they are going to now produce energy from used sugar canes? :hmmm:
