Positive development indeed, no drone attacks from Afghanistan. I think then they will use shahbaz airbase (or some other base within pakistan) since it doesn’t seem that they want to cease using them.

Do Afghanis even have a say in what happens in their country? Part of it is still ruled by Taliban, and the remaining part by the US.
Pakistan and Afghanistan are ruled by governments that are effectively blackmailed into doing whatever the US wants, based on the funding that these governments receive from their US bosses. Afghanistan will be reliant on US aid long after 2014. Same is the case with Pakistan. US will do what it wants, until these countries come up with leaders with spines.

It is only for Pentagon to decide if drones should stop or not. Afghanistan is reading too much into the 2014 withdrawal accord.

Well at least its a good gesture towards Pakistan and we should appreciate that, lets see what happens in the future but Americans are also losing their options with the passage of time. Their various steps during the past few months seem to be confused, they even wanted to stay on in Iraq but had to leave. The best would be to leave a self sustaining kind of government (fully representative) which has good relations with its neighbours, and the west should provide them only with financial support for a few years so that it could become economically stable with the passage of time.

I read this as "drone attacks to continue on Pakistan till 2015". :( That is bad news.

We like 'em or not, the hard and bitter realities are:
1: We cannot keep Nato routes closed forever
2: Drones are beyond us to stop — and Afghanitsan too

By the way, they aren't going leave Afghanistan, they will only curtail their presence.

Nato so called operation will not end by 2014, they will find some other excuse to remain in Afghanistan and will carry on with their crimes!

Pakistanis couldnt get drone attacks halted or atleast get the control over them, where as the Afghans have got control of the controversial night raids there. So what does it tell us?

*From today till 2014, if there are 500 drone attacks and on an average if 10 lives are lost per attack that means another 5000 casualties by 2014. Out of 5000 you may say 300 are insurgents then the rest 4700 are civil casualties. Blood money in govt pocket for more Beamers/Mergs and lavish life style. *
