No Air conditioning in New York

Tofy I think the original poster was talking not just about AC, rather centralized AC system. In my all contacts here, noone has centralized one rather they are very satisfied with the room AC. I may have come from whatever the area, but people whom I know neither have centralized unit nor they feel they need of it. YMMV.

From what I understand, New York city does not have centralized air conditioning system. I know some people install window units in their house. But most of the people I know DO NOT have any, and only use fans.
