Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

I had one, bought it from my friend used it for 2 years. Send it to junk yard.
Consume oil more than normal cars(its big)
Smooooooth ride.
Very strong engine.
Other than oil consumption loved every thing about it.

oil=patrol or gas

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

You mean the 3.2l bothered you right? or are you talking about other oil..any other problems? and how come the junk yard? how old was it?

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

begum had a 94 maxima when we got married, good car, powerful, comfortable and reliable.
but she got bored and traded it for a coupe a year later :D

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

Have a 1997 GLE sitting in the garage. Couldnt be happier with the thing, it has been very very very reliable since day one. Prices for a used make the car a bargain compared to a V6 Camry from the same gen.

Only problem might be all the speeding tickets you'll get. We raked in a couple speeding tickets within a few months of having the thing.

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

95/96-2000 model was my most favorite sedan...the car looked sporty yet classy. Couple of friends had it...and i always loved the ride....yes takes a lot of gas, but i liked riding in Maxima more than riding in Corolla

AND Yes the car does attract speeding tickets although my worst ticket happened in 929.

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

I didn't want to tell every one that I had an old car.
so CP it was 92. very solid car. But it wasn't well taken care of. So it had rust and stuff.
Last time when it had some issue with muffler I sent it Junkyard. Because now I "have to" spend tons of money on a car other wise that money go to Govt. as tax.
If oil consumption is not an issue you should buy it.

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

I am only going to buy that thing because 1) smooth ride and 2) performance

other than that I am thinking corolla, civic.. blah

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

dude don't buy toyota or honda.(every pakistani have it)
Buy nissan, Its much better.

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

Depends who you buy the car from and how they took care of it. If the owner was some spoiled teen then you are out of luck. I have seen these kids rape the car left and right. Car itself is strong. Keep in mind you are talking about TWO different engine types: 94 and before had the VG engine still a 6cyl and 95-01 had a VQ. VQ engine has been one of the best engines for some time now. You can pick up a nice 99 GLE (if you prefer automatic) or a SE (5speed) for around 6k with nice low miles. That car will run forever with just oil changes as long as you dong dog it around. The only known problems were related to the alternator and sometimes the starter. Alternator was covered under the Nissan Recall. Starter can be purchased from any autopart store for 100 bucks or so.

Any other questions? Just post em here. Oh and how I know all this? Well that was my First Car

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

That car looks nice. You will have to go check it out in person. I am not sure why he has 97-99 SE wheels on that 2000. 2000 SEs came with 17s

Re: Nissan Maxima 94-2000

ahan, thanks.
