I actually started using this in October. I have been using the cleanser plus the scalp therapy/conditioner. I'll see my hairdresser in a couple of weeks and see if she thinks it has started to do any good, but overall I am pleased. I was losing what seemed a shocking amount of hair last fall, and it seems to have slowed down. I did a couple of other things to try and clean up my diet as well----cut out caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and started taking a good multivitamin.
Some people do report that at first it seems like they're actually losing more hair. The explanation I read is that conventional shampoos leave residues in your hair follicles that build up over time, clogging and weakening hair follicles. When you first start using Nioxin, it begins clearing out the follicles, and as a result weak hairs that were just basically being held in place by the deposits will fall out. After a few weeks it should slow down and after a few months you should see some regrowth.
My hair is less thick than most desi girls to begin with, and I'm terrified of losing hair!
