Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Hi guys, have any of you tried this system? It’s a shampoo, conditioner and scalp therapy system which helps to nourish, thicken your hair and encourage hair growth. It apparently has had clinical results.

So I got my hair cut a few days ago and my hairdresser suggested it to me. I bought into it and was reading about it online after my purchase. A lot of people who have lost hair from chemotherapy use it, as well as people who generally have thin hair… and people reallly like it! But I read that some people have actually lost some more hair from it, OR , have had bad reactions to it. SO i got worried and almost returned it… but I thought, what they hey, I’ll just give it a shot.

So I used it last night and I ABSOLUTELY love it. and i don’t feel any burning. My hair does feel heavier today though..

I’ll keep you posted on my experience with it. The results are only visible after a few weeks of using iit.

In the mean time, have any of you used it? What are your experiences with it?

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

My brother tried it --
he liked it allot.
his hair stopped falling out but its just allot of maintaince to always go find the products as they aren't readily avaialble you have to run to a salon.

I was just reading about that yesterday! My mom has been using the hair color boxes from the regular stores like revlon or loreal and she has lost so much hair. Yesterday she went to get her hair colored professionally and the lady told her she needs to stop using those boxes because they are really really bad for you.

I was thinking of getting this for her since you can see parts of her scalp now that she has lost significant amounts of hair.

I have heard great things about it as well. But haven't tried it yet. Sally's beauty supply has equivalent of the same shampoo..it's called Nutri-ox...and it seems to work pretty good and it's cheaper. The only thing is that the shampoo's got sulfate which isn't good for your hair. As much as I want to stick to this product..I keep wanting to try something natural...meh. Nutri-ox's got two kind..for normal hair and color treated hair. I got the normal eventhough my hair is colored so my husband could use it aswell. Does it really matter? I colored my hair 6 months ago, to they have grown out.

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Hi everyone! Okay so it's been about 1 or 2 weeks since i've been using this stuff... and i think everything is coming along fine.. haven't had any side effects or anything. my hair is definitely a bit stronger and feels heavier... but still waiting for more benefits to actualize. i hear so much about how it stimulates hair growth but its too early for me to see this effect. will keep you updated!

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

i use it on and off...and thats what i have been told to do... it works wonders. yes the hair will stop falling and in a month u will inshallah see tiny little hair on ur head (the best thing ever) BUT since this system has a lot of chemicals it will dry u hair so maybe use it for 2-3 months (i normally use it for 3 months) and thn stop for a little while...n thn go back if needed.
good luck

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Kool....Maybe I'll give it a try :D

I have used the 3 step step for colour treated hair and I loved it! It does help with the hair growth and I could feel more volume in my hair.

I actually started using this in October. I have been using the cleanser plus the scalp therapy/conditioner. I'll see my hairdresser in a couple of weeks and see if she thinks it has started to do any good, but overall I am pleased. I was losing what seemed a shocking amount of hair last fall, and it seems to have slowed down. I did a couple of other things to try and clean up my diet as well----cut out caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and started taking a good multivitamin.

Some people do report that at first it seems like they're actually losing more hair. The explanation I read is that conventional shampoos leave residues in your hair follicles that build up over time, clogging and weakening hair follicles. When you first start using Nioxin, it begins clearing out the follicles, and as a result weak hairs that were just basically being held in place by the deposits will fall out. After a few weeks it should slow down and after a few months you should see some regrowth.

My hair is less thick than most desi girls to begin with, and I'm terrified of losing hair!

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Now I am sold!!! After all these reviews....

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Hi, is this available in the UK?

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Now, I have tried it once...everything seems okay BUT the only thing I do not like is that after using it my hair looks kindda dull....I mean I have straight shinny hair....after my 1st wash with this system they look matte :p

I think that is coz of all the chemicals....

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Keep us updated, guys!

P.S. I am contemplating buying it too. For some reason, I get dandruff only on the front part of the head every few months and it makes my hair fall out like there is no tomorrow. Something needs to be done to cure this PRONTO!

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

My mother used this upon someones advice and swears by it! It really did start to thicken her fraying hair and her hair stopped falling out... Wishkamar, you should definitly try it. Good luck!

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

I have heard about this from people who say its good.
i heard horse shampoo does a good job too....

Re: Nioxin Hair Therapy System

Is nioxin the same thing as Rogaine for women? I live in Scandinavia, so I don't think it's available here but Rogaine is.
