A friend of mine got married recently. It was an arranged marriage, so she didn't know much about the guy. Better said, she knew nothing about the guy. They were engaged for 6 months and after that got married.
After marriage she found out a lot of things about him. A few weeks back she found out that he drinks. She promised him not to tell anyone, if he stopped. Then she asked him if he was doing drugs too. He denied and she found the drugs on him a couple of days back. When they came for her rishta they told her parents that the guy has two degrees, which he doesnt have. They told them he earns 500 a week, which he doesn't. And that he smokes occasionally.. take a wild guess. He's a chainsmoker.
She gave him a chance to fix himself, but he continues doing it behind her back. At the moment she's at her parents house, because she refuses to go back to him. Her in-laws want her to come back, she even told me her FIL was in tears. Also her parents want her to go back. But she won't go back.
She was asking me if her nikkah would be still valid, if all these things weren't known before they got married?
