i am getting married inshallah early next summer and we are starting to plan everything. we are having the dinner reception at a hotel and i would like to have our nikkah in their ceremony room there. i spoke with the imam who said he can come to the hall and he is also acting as my wali (my father is in dubai and wont be able to attend and my grandfathers passed away and i have no uncles or brothers!).
my question is how should we set up the room? they are going to make the chairs theatre style and everyone will sit and watch us then after the ceremony is over they will go to the big banquet room with tables. but how should the front be set up? should we have a stage with multiple chairs? how many chairs should we have? 1 for me, the groom, imam, and 2 witnesses?

yup, do a simple stage set up at the front. make sure there is a mic so everyone can hear the ceremony. have chairs for you and hubby, of course, your walis and the imam too.

jazakallah khair, all the other weddings i know of they usually do this too.. they bring the girl after the nikkah but we want to do it with us sitting together
