Nikah on the telephone isn’t unheard of but nikah on Skype? Have people started that too? Is it even valid? If nikah on the phone is considered ok, I don’t see why Skype nikahs wouldn’t be.

personally wouldn't consider either phone or skype nikkah valid...but ppl have their problems ...so each to his own..

used to have xvideo chat on skype.. if that is possible which it is, so their shouldn’t be any problem with nikkah imo

If the conditions are fulfilled for Nikkah…i.e. witnesses etc then I don’t see why it wouldn’t be legitimate.

Your believing or disbelieving does not make a difference to the nikah’s validity 
. It’s perfectly legal.

This is the ruling that I heard.
Girl's wakeel should be sitting in person in front of the groom and he should have prior acceptance from the girl about this nikah. Larkee and witnesses can be on the other side of skype/msn/phone. Nikah is valid then
