I would say it is kind of poorly translated…
5. Whether bride is a virgin, widow or divorced
It would have been better if it said “single” instead of “virgin” lolz
Why there is no option/place for the groom to declare his marital status?

Yea you are right Lusi, but as you can see in the original one on the top has word 'Kanwari'. I don't know if single can be a correct representation of this word. Cauz you can be single again after getting divorced, but 'Kanwari' is some one who never got married before.
Yup no marital status for groom ... :D
Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
Ok, I have decided that for my nikkah I draft my own nikkah nama :D
Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
I guess you CAN draft your own as long as groom agrees to it ![]()
Do show us a copy of it too ![]()
Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
man must be ageless.
Hello Fellows:
I am a new member of this group and would like to know the answer of my simple question regarding English version of Pakistani Nikkah nama.
What steps do I need to take to translate urdu version of nikkah nama into English version as I need it for my spouse for UK visa purpose?
Is there any English version available?
Thanks and looking forward your kind reply.
Khan.
Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
Just take your urdu nikkahnama to any lawyers office (if they can't do it themselves they will refer you to someone who can) in pak and ask them for a translated attested copy. Make sure you submit both the urdu version as well as the english copy with your application form.
Good luck!
Thanks, I will do the same but here I would like to share something as I found it by discussing people. They said, visit to any registered nikkah khwa and ask him to give an english version of nikkah nama form, after filling this form go for attestation. It really confused me infact I myself still confuse which way to go as no one in my circle has been gone through this process before.

Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
It depends on where you go to get your translated copy - if you go to a lawyers then they can attest it for you at the same time. Start by getting the translated copy and ask them whether they can attest it for you. If they can't then they will know where you can do so.
I’m thinking of drafting my own or using this one (I like it but it’s a bit long):

Re: Nikah-nama .. the original document
This is the Pakistani Marriage Certificate (Nikah Naama) in Urdu. Unfortunately, the file size was large, therefore I had to break it down into 3 smaller pieces. Here it is.
