Nihari & Paaye

What’s the difference between Nihari & Paaye

Re: Nihari & Paaye

Payee are salan of Goat/Cow ki payee (feet)

Nihari is salan made from a specific meat from beef (bong) and can be made from chicken also but the taste is very good when made from beef

Re: Nihari & Paaye

Two completely different dishes! As explained above ^

Re: Nihari & Paaye

Yep, paaye are made from trotters/feet of a cow or sheep/lamb. Whereas Nihari is made from lamb or beef shank, though people do make it from chicken too. The flavours and spices are completley different, I find paaye has a slightly sticky consistency too.

Re: Nihari & Paaye

Thank you :hat:

Re: Nihari & Paaye

Each charpai has four payas and Nihari is horse feed. If you do not believe me about Nihari knows as horse feed in Punjab , read Some of the books by Ibne Insha , Insha jee is the one who says that in his books.
I will try to dig out the reference.
