Nightmare Trips

Ever had one?
Where did you go and what was the grief about?

The worst trip I had was a business one where my luggage was lost…

I flew in a space of 1 month 4 flights. One 3 of those 4 flights, PIA lost my luggage. And this was when i was flying PIA after 8 years. Never flying them again. They lost my Luggage:

  1. Zurich to Paris
  2. Paris to Islamabad
  3. Islamabad to Dubia

They found my luggage all three times and proceed to lose it again and again. Nothing was missing or stolen though...

Had the lost luggage thing happen to me too Muzna. Its very annoying but you can use it as a good excuse to go shopping in Duty Free.

Another thing I hate is when you get on the plane, everyone's trying to find their seat and the queue is held up by one guy getting himself ready for the flight. First he finds his seat, and stand there for ages making sure he has the right seat. When he's satisfied that he has he opens his briefcase and carefully puts away his boarding pass, ticket and passport. Then he removes his jacket, which he folds up and places in the overhead luggage storage. Next he opens his briefcase again and takes his time choosing the papers he will look over during the flight. Briefcase gets closed again, and placed in storage with jacket. Everyone in the queue start thinking that the guy is finally done but wait, he needs his favourite pen which is in his jacket pocket. So down comes the briefcase, then the jacket. Pen is found. Jacket is folded up again and placed in storage along with his jacket. Irate mother standing behind him has to control the urge to stab him in the eye with his pen and has to be consoled by the air stewardess with peanuts.

I think the company you travel with is really important. The first time I was in Mexico, my girlfriends wanted to do absolutely nothing but tan by the pool. They didn't even want to walk on the beach which was literally steps away. They had absolutely no interest in exploring the city, historical sites, meeting locals and even going shopping! That made it quite miserable for me as I was not going to venture out on my own in Mexico .... especially when I speak no Spanish. I did manage to nag them and got them to do a tour of the city with me but it's no fun when you have to force somebody into doing something. :D

hehe.. one nightmare trip of mine was when i accidentally left my IDs, passport, $100 in cash, and my ticket with boarding pass all in a wallet at a restaurant at the airport…

Talk about height of stupidity, that’s me :smack: Some people are so darn honest… a waitress at the restaurant found it, took it to her manager, and they paged me and gave it back - not a penny was stolen.

Travling with kids :grumpy:

argh i will share later …

Having bad company while travelling. Thats a nightmare with countless series/episodes. Dealing with people who have no patience while travelling.

Hey, I wasn't that impatient. Not my fault you take ages to eat your tiny bag of peanuts.

Please refrain from using "tiny" and "nuts" in the same sentence while addressing a gentleman named cocoNUT.
