Night Time Feedings/Sleep Training

I don’t think I’ve slept through the night in the past year. Not once.

I need to figure out this sleeping thing.

My son wakes up EVERY 2 hours for feedings…he cries and cries until he gets his bottle.

We had him sleeping through the night (by night I mean from 11pm-4am) up until he was 7 months but its as if he’s regressed.

Yes, he might be teething. But for the past month or so its as if he won’t sleep until he’s had milk again.

He’s having 3 meals a day with the last one being an hour before bed time.

Anyone been through this?

Re: Night Time Feedings/Sleep Training

Reha, I hear you.. I was in the same boat when my daughter was 6-7 months old. It was driving me insane!
What worked was moving her in her own room. I realized that having her crib in our bedroom meant that her sleep was disturbed at the slightest sound from us and vice versa. I moved her to the 2nd bedroom, and turned on the baby monitor. If she was just fussing about, it did not wake me up, and very often she just drifted back to sleep on her own. In any case, even if she was crying, I’d wait 10 mins before walking in. That taught her to put herself back to sleep. She still wakes up once on most nights, but that is much more bearable..
How much milk is he having in addition to the 3 meals? My LO finishes a whole bottle before bed even if she’s eaten an hour before . Maybe he is just hungry? Massage and bath followed by warm milk before bedtime helps her sleep at least 5-6 hrs at a stretch.
And at the end of it, if nothing works.. remember, this too shall pass! :flowers:

I can try the warm baths again nightly but I had decreased them because I started working and he hatessssss being cleaned. Like he fights me for diaper changes and clothes changes.

And yes, we do a full bottle at bedtime as well but he’s still up and 2 and then 4 and then 6

:crying:

Re: Night Time Feedings/Sleep Training

How many ounces does he take at befrime?

I am so afraid of mine regressing because I have twins and I used to get no sleep what so ever when they used to wake up every 3 hours. Now they sleep 8-10 hours each night. Before bed time, I put them in tummy time, massage and bathe them. I noticed they sleep better of I do this because they get tired. But mine are only 2 months adjusted age and 4 months actual.

I know it's not what you want to hear but some babies are just like that. My son was the same, woke every two hours from birth up until just last the age of two years. I tried everything and nothing worked....changing feeding routines, bathtimes, homeopathy medicines, cranial osteopath, baby massage - nothing worked! He just started sleeping through the night one day of his own accord. No idea what changed but I'm glad it did, lol.
