After 2 hours of dozing off I suddenly felt someone’s presence in the room. I opened my eyes and saw a white shadow of a person about to attack me, I heard my husband scream (very unusual of him, lol) and saw him fighting with the shadow person so I started to scream even louder and started to punch and kick the shadow. Suddenly I felt the light on and came back to my senses…my husband was a bit shaken and told me I’ve woken up the whole neighborhood by screaming, I quickly realized my throat was hurting like anything. I was relived to know it wasn’t real but I became very queasy my bloodpressure went down. I had to take sugary drink to calm myself down but even now everything is feeling surreal. And what freaking me out is the fact that during the whole incident of screaming and thrashing my eyes were wide open.
Have you ever felt or experienced something like this in your life?
Yes but I told my husband to leave the light on and keep awake until I go back to sleep. I had a warm bath and loads of sugary stuff to eat and drink to get rid of the nausea. I went back to sleep after 2 hours.
i had something similar happen to me in 2007 after i had my 1st son it was the only time it has happened. I was in my bed sleeping along with my son in his bassinet (husband was working a night shift that night) and with my eyes opened i saw a blackish colored figure across the hall, i could also hear my son crying but the his crying sound was coming from the hall way and as i wanted to get up my body felt glued to the bed , i wanted to scream but my throat felt dry and couldn’t say a word and all i could see was the man shaped figure walking towards the bedroom.. a few long minutes later however i could move, and everything seemed back to normal and even the baby was asleep, may sound silly but i was scared out of my mind for days and i am still not sure if i was dreaming or if it was my mind playing tricks on me.
It’s called sleep paralysis, a condition where you are usually confronted with a nightmare (and you might even be aware that you’re dreaming) but you’re incapable of movement/speech. I guess the immobility has something to do with the stage of sleep that you’re in when this occurs. I wonder if the paralysis is the brain’s way of trying to protect you from acting out in a way that may harm you. I’ve also read that there’s a jinn/type of shaitan (not sure which) called Jathoom/Yajthum that is associated with this phenomenon, but I don’t know how authentic this is.
^600 kcal is totally borderline starvation. Stick to at least a 1000kcal one.
And I know once happened with me too. I dreamt I saw a big black werewolf kind of an animal right next to my bed. I jumped out of the bed in fright wide awake and kept screaming. My sister got the fright of her life screaming and it took me a good 5 minutes to realise it was a dream. It seemed SO realistic :(

sleep paralysis usually occurs when one is not taking a balanced diet and is often due to an imbalance of salts in the body. It's alot more common in teenagers or adolescents during their growth spurt.
not sure about the jinn phenomenon. Interesting.
