Icono, my 6 year old has been sleepin through the night, dry, without having to get up in the middle of the night since she was 4.5. No accidents ever. I have heard that it takes longer in boys but I'm not sure why or if that claim is correct as I don't have sons.
My 2.5 year old is potty/pippy trained already but she I do put on a diaper for the night. 5/7 nights are dry, but I'm not ready to take the risk.
I think what you are doing is fine. Perhaps you want to cut out their pre-sleep liquids like bedtime milk, and also make sure they are warm enough?
