I hold dual nationality British & Pakistani (through my mother who has a passport with my name and dob on it. I am told this qualifies me as a dual national) I recently got married and to enhance my spouse visa application I would like a NICOP card. However, when filling out the form it is a complusory part you have your head of household which is my fathers NIC number but my dad is born and bred in Britain and has only a british passport? So what do i do?
Your only option is to write you dad's British passport number in the required field. Include a brief letter| memo with your application explaining the situation.
If your dad is a British citizen, he can also apply for Pakistan Origin Card (POC) but looking at your post, I doubt if he would want to do that.
You mentioned that you are married, but didn't mention if your husband is a Pakistani citizen or a British citizen. Since you are married, the head of your household is your husband, even if you are living with your father for the time being. That's my understanding.
On a side note, be prepared to wait for a long time. I applied to update my wife's NICOP last year in April/May. I didn't hear anything back after 6 months (their promised time). We got the updated card (with updated name) THIS WEEK. And get this, they didn't send it to the address that I provided on the application (since she moved after we got married). They not only didn't mail it at the present address, they still put the old address on the card itself. Luckily they put down my phone number on the address label and the courier service called me to get an updated address. Otherwise, the present person at her former address had rejected it and if they didn't have the phone number on it, it would've been lost somewhere.
So what are the advantages of NICOP cards, my husband is pakistani national and has the national identity card (NIC) so what are the advantages of showing that you are a overseas pakistani national ???

My father wants a NICOP card just like me. My mother also wants to renew hers. I am a man my wife is a pakistani citerzn. So what your saying I would qualify as head of the household?
Waiting 6 months? Was in done on paper and handed in at a bank habib maybe? I read a few people applying online with all there scanned in documents getting NICOP delivered all around the globe within 10 working days??

Online application weren't introduced when we applied for NICOP cards and I'll give Nadra credit for issuing our NICOP card within 6 weeks.

I got 4 NICOPs (myself, my wife and both my kids) within a month by applying online. That was pretty recent actually. The only problem is, if you are using credit card, you can't use the same credit for 30 days after paying for one NICOP. So you have to have four credit cards if you are applying for 4 NICOPs at the same time or wait for 30 days after you apply for one.
Also, if you are married, just declare yourself as a head of the house.
^ I e-mailed them but I never got a reply. It's been about 6 months. I don't need a reply anymore as we've received the card. Also, I just checked my e-mail inbox to confirm and I have no e-mails from them, so probably my message did go through but they never replied.

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier.
Yes, you would be the head of the household for yourself and your wife only, I believe, and your father would be the head of household for himself and your mother, as I understand. I don't think it really matters whose name you put there.
My wife's NICOP just arrived a few weeks ago, so that was well over after ONE year since we applied. They sent it to her old address where she used to live before we got married. She had moved from there for 2 years, we did not provide that address on the application, yet they still mailed it to the old address :) Luckily they put my phone number on the address label and the delivery guy called me to get a new address.
Also, we didn't apply online as I belive that option was not available back then, or at least I was not aware of it. We applied via mail by sending the documents to the Pakistani embassy in Washington DC.
If you have more questions, feel free to send me a private message and I would be more than happy to help.
