I have been there in Summer and loved it. How does it look like in winter?

Its definitely not the same. There is no "Maid of the Mist" ride. The whole thing will be freezing cold. You will see a lot of snow. The fall will be falling, yes, but its pretty much just a view from afar. If you are going from Canadian side, you can still go down to the viewing station at lower levels, but they would have closed the closest one due to extreme cold. Its still a lot of fun. They usually have the Festival of Lights there, during the off-season, I think. Fireworks and light shows etc.

I have already been there in summer. I m going to be in NY in last week of feb for some other reason .So I was considering a visit to Niagara.
Have you been there inw inter?

What's up with Desis and Niagara Falls?. They just love visiting the place over and over again.
PS. The falls are about 8 hours away from NYC. Is it worth it?

Actually I have only been there in winters. December and April. Though I have been there through Canadian side both times, so can’t say about Buffalo, or whereever in NY you want to go check out the Niagara Falls.

These last few days the temperature has been pretty mild, 3 - 4 degrees C, and will be this coming weekend too. If you have to go now make sure you go this coming weekend. This is as warm as it gets in feb.

Also, its a little off topic but did you guys know that once, to do some research they completely stopped the flow to niagara. They even had to artificially supply water to the rocks, as it appeared to develop cracks after the water flow as stopped. I saw this in a documentary.
