Nexus One

i likes!

wondering if Wind mobile will pick this one up…hope they do, my contract is up for renewal, and the phone just might tip it in favour of me signing up with Wind instead of staying with rogers :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Nexus One

I got a chance to play with it...

Cons:

i) 3G works only with Tmobile's band, so ATT users unless you want to EDGE, stay clear
ii) Still doesnt have the same convenient and friendly UI that the iPhone has
iii) Not as much as fun, and one thing that iphone ppl dont realize is that they have a HUUUUGE list of apps compared to all other phones
iv) only 512MB ram? wth!
v) screen horrible to see in bright light, again the iphone wins here hands down

Pros:
i) Very sharp display (visually in normal light), even better than the iphone
ii) better camera
iii) from what i was told, an improved battery life, but with HTC as the manufacturer, cant say that with confidence

Thanks for the review spock :k:

I think the 512 MB RAM is plenty considering the phone runs off android 2.1…and i that’s still more than what comes with the iphone (256 MB for iphone??)

also, the processor for the nexus one is great @ 1 GHz - i think the iphone comes with a 600 MHz processor…

the built in flash memory is certainly on the low side @ 512 MB, but that’s usually the case with all HTC devices…

also, the iphone has an edge over this one cuz it launched earlier, hence the huge lists of apps…that was also one of the things that i had thought about b4 considering this phone…but then again, with the open source android OS running on it, developers get the freedom to do whatever…don’t think there’s a pay per download model in place for the apps on this fone, unlike the iphone…and also, i think the more the fone sells, the more apps we’ll start seeing for it…

lets see…still considering it for myself, whenever it launches here in Canada  but ultimately i’ll only decide after playing with it a lil myself

Re: Nexus One

Sounds good from what i have heard so far but i'll still stick with my iPhone for now.

Re: Nexus One

Hey, what happened to GS getting a lab together to test out new gadgets???
TLK, Azkar? I thought we were going to start doing reviews. Can I do an article on this phone?

Re: Nexus One

^^ good idea :k:

Re: Nexus One

might be worth waiting for the Sony Xperia - apparently it's the most favorably reviewed Android phone to date.
