Re: Next Palette - NYX or Sleek or something else?
Anybody heard about coastal scents palettes?
I have costal scents palettes (natural and think pink) I love the colours, they come out so nice and are very pigmented, the only thing I didn't know at the time when I bought them was that the shadows are made in China, so for that reason it was a bit off a turn off.
Reha, I have heard great things about sleek blushes and shadows, but those are only available in the uk....right?

thanks pink :)

That sounds like a great idea! Why do empty palettes have to be so darn expensive?! argh!
The one I have pictured is $12 or so. BUT you can make your own. Take an empty DVD or CD case and line it with magnetic paper (usually self-adhesive and it will function the same. If you are a pro-depotter, you should look into the Z Palettes and they are $20 but can be found on eBay for cheaper.

^The DVD idea sounds great! i'll have to give it a try. I want to start depotting, how do you do it?
Re: Next Palette - NYX or Sleek or something else?
There are videos on a DIY freestyle palette on youtube using DVD/CD cases, so give those a try.
As for depotting, I use two methods. If I don’t care for the packaging or it’s drugstore like Wet ‘n’ Wild, I use a lighter and run the flame under for 30 seconds or so until the glue under the pan melts. Then take a pointy metal object like a nail or something and poke it out. Here is what I used:
As for things like MAC or something where you need the packaging to do Back-to-MAC, I prefer using the flat iron method. You take parchment paper (NOT wax paper) and put it under whatever you want to depot. Let it sit on the plate for 20-30 seconds until the glue melts and poke it out with something pointy. Make sure whenever you poke the pans out, you always do it slowly and never force it out. If you need to force it out, the glue isn’t melted enough. Here is a good video if you are going to depot MAC eyeshadows. Personally, if you have a lot of MAC eyeshadows, I’d get their 15-pan palette for $15.
