few years back one of my teacher who were connected to the AKDN told me that there is a great chances that Her Higness Zahra Agha khan (eldest child) wud be the successor of prince karim agha khan.

reason being that she is very competent and actively supervising the various department of AKDN, AKFED and other organs of agha khan empire. on the other hand the sons of agha khan (Rahim and Hussain) are neither that competent nor that actively involve in the affairs of AKFED.
so it is being seriously discussed in the high circle of nazari community to assess the possibilty of nominating a female as imam. if it happens it wud be for the first time in the history of nazari’s that a female becomes an imam.
wud neone here like to comment on the veracity of this proposition

only male descendants can become imams of the nizari (aga khani) community.. being active in worldly matters has nothing to do with being a spiritul leader.. your post said " it is being seriously discussed in the high circle of nazari community"… there’s no such thing as “high circle of nizari community” only present imam has the right to choose the next imam.. PERIOD…
n by the way, i’ve answered it in the ismaili/aga khani thread that only present imam can choose the next imam so why this whole new thread??
I've seen some pics of the older Imams and their families and the ladies wore hijab but how come the present princesses don't?
it's upto the imam.. he knows better... personally i'm fine wid it.. imam's whole family's acts are right and according to islam.. that's what matters to me.. don't know about other ismailis or u guys....

he shud be considered as a gud enterpreneur instead of imam, who is running his busniess empire purely on commercial basis on western management philosphy........ rather than based on quran and sunnah.
new jubilee insurance and habib bank limited is the best example who is purely work on the basis of interest. allah has specifically mentioned about the hurmat of the interest.
i think what he doing is like jews , they wud manovoure the sharaih just to gain worldly advantages and follow their nafs and allah cursed them in quran, for this. the same is the case of karim agha khan ......... may allah show him right .

aramis the Ismailis don't believe in the Sunni collections of Ahadeeth, even the 12er Shiahs do not believe in our Ahadeeth because they believe that our Sahaabah who narrated and their followers who compiled those Ahadeeth were hypocrites and crypto-Kafirs.
So your argument that she is going against hadith is null and void because like other Shiahs they reject our Sunni version of Ahadeeth/Sunnah.

this is the criteria. n in my personal opinion (that may be flawed) karim agha does not meet this criteria.
Imam or ne other religious personality like peer of (naqhbandi, chisti….. etc.) tradition are supposed to provide guidance the guidance to their followers in the light of quran and hadith. Rather than to establish business empire and take part in horse racing/gambling.
My father saw karim agha when he came to inauguration ceremony of the agha khan hospital. He did not shake hand wid ismaili’s over there. However he shook hand wid non ismaili including the president Muhammad Zia ul Haq (late). I don’t know whether its his permanent habit or not. Yesterday I was seeing his profile, he never married to the ismaili women (Christian women converted to nazari) like his son hasan did. And princess zahra married to a Christian, what kind of msg that whole family wants to deliver. Is this according to sunnat of prophet pbuh.
Apart from he is imam or not but atleast he is ummate of prophet. How can he override his action?
