Mohammed Zahid is nothing how he used to be when he first came.
he's finished as a bowler...not at all penentratable...
We should bring in Mushtaq Ahmad atleast in our national side...he's going great guns atleast for now

Umair you are absolutely right that we don't need any specialist spinner in ODI. Howver I wasnt clear that we need a specialist spin bowler in Test. I don't really mind sticking with kaneria for some time. He might give SA some trouble with his leg breaks..
Xtreme you are right about Razzaq that he isnt in the same league but I don't buy that he is on the team solely on the basis of his batting. We have better specialist batsmen sitting on the sidelines. HE is there because he is young, experienced allrounder. He can still claim wickets in ODI. I'm not sure if he should be included in Tests.
I don’t think when it comes to pace-attack Pakistan side is weak - With Shoaib Akhtar & Mohammad Sami already on the International scene - Shabbir Ahmed & Umer Gul proving to be nation’s future prospect there are a lot more bowlers to come - It is sad the era of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis ended in diaster - Wasim Akram faced health problem and Waqar Younis was sidelined by the PCB - As much as PCB is to blame - Waqar Younis took the same piece of medicine as well because Pakistan were losing major tournaments when he was team’s skipper - he should have resigned it but i guess he was too greedy of being incharge - I think he paid the price of it - however he has moved to Australia - and will play for Sydney Cricket Academy. Also Waqar’s wife is expecting baby(hope that goes well) in Novmember this year who is actually Australian by birth - so by suming up my point I have to say there are many bowlers to come but they won’t be able to fill in Wasim and Waqar’s shoes just like there can no Javed Miandad and Salim Malik.
However i think Pakistan problem is the inconsistent batting line-up - Pakistan need the experience up top and to be quite frank Pakistan really don’t have it - they need Saeed Anawar in their side - poor guy had to quit Cricket in sadness - You had the same problem in the middle but sorted that one out before it got too far out of hand by recalling Inzamam-ul-Haq before he decided to retire! The real test of Pakistan’s youngsters will be against South Africa - if you guys beat South Africa - then I think you guys have gambled really good but then it’s all uncertain to say now.

So If Waqar's son is born in Australia, he may be eligible to play of Australia one day.
of course :k:
wasim and waqar will never be replaced they were naturally gifted bowlers who had something special about them, i don't think we will ever produce some bowlers of the same calibre and quality, i mean we mite produce good bowlers but not as ** GOOD ** as was' and waq'
^ u never know.....when imran was around, we used to say the same thing...but then we were gifted with the talents of 2 W's.....the same can happen now....they r indeed the best bowlers currently, but we dont know what future holds in the field of fast bowling.........
Javed and Salim Malik in the same sentence. i hope I missed the sarcasm in that. ![]()
Umar Gul 5 for 19 from 9 overs today. And unlike Waqar, he can only get better with experience as opposed to worse with age so maybe people will shut up about Waqar and let Umar develop - which he seems to be doing very nicely so far :k:
