Next few days are important

After the massacre of ahl e sunnah and torching of a mosque and madressa in rawalpindi the situation is getting worse.

See BBC has tactfully ignored the main issue of rawalpindi in this report
??? - ?BBC Urdu? - ??? ?? ??? ??? ?? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???](راولپنڈی کے بعد پنجاب کے مختلف شہروں میں فرقہ وارانہ کشیدگی - BBC News اردو)

Now that we all know that media is biased, there is another important area that we need to focus on. I have been watching /following the media since yesterday with very little sleep, and the trend i see in people asking for revenge or some thing like that is chilling.

i think government should immediately take action to stop all this hate speech from both sides. It will be equally painfull for me if the Lej as they are claiming takes a revenge. it is the duty of government to make necessary arrangements , including restriction on zakirs not to use inflammatory words(like yesterday in punjab) and tighting up the security for shia gatherings.

Next few days are important.

Arresting those involve and bringing justice to them will lower the tension inshallah.

Re: Next few days are important

our media is the biggest evil of pakistan. they report only what suits them.

Re: Next few days are important

If sectarian groups like Sipahe sahaba and LJ are stopped then such things will stop to happen in the first place.
It is the incidents like following which those terrorists cause due to their hate filled ideology.

3 shot dead in Gujranwala Imambargahs - DAWN.COM
GUJRANWALA, Nov 9: An office-bearer of the Shia Ulema Council and two other members of the community were shot dead in two Imambargahs in Baghbanpura on Saturday morning. The council’s finance secretary, Javed Talat, was shot dead with an automatic weapon by two men riding a motorcycle who forced their way into the Zainabia Imambargah, on Naushera Road.

Police claimed to have arrested nine suspects, including activists of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.

Re: Next few days are important

The curfew will only stop the miscreants for the time being. The retaliation will be there from the other group sooner or later. Like I said before, its up to the community to hand over those involved in the slaughter of the people to the authorities themselves. Else the cycle of hatred will continue in the form of exploding suicide belts. And anti-pakistan elements will surely add fuel to the fire.

Re: Next few days are important

If this is what going to happen after every incident (each party taking side of the sect they follow irrespective of the wrong doings), then only solution is to make country a secular state. Yes I'm saying it. If religion is the name of carrying 1400 years enmities, then better to denounce it, because when you don't know the soul of your deen, then its equal whether you label yourself a Muslim or not.

Re: Next few days are important

Just a few days back there were some innocent people also killed by those sectarian terrorists. People who incite people with their hate filled propaganda should be banned not just in papers but also in spirit as well.

Pakistan economy is in shambles and yet these sectarian terrorists have people talking about religion instead of the price of potatoes.

Gunmen kill five Shias in Karachi - DAWN.COM

KARACHI: At least five Shia Muslims, including two doctors, were gunned down Monday and three others were injured in different parts of Pakistan’s port city of Karachi, police officials said.

City police chief Shahid Hayat confirmed the killings saying five members of the Shia community were shot dead in several districts.

Re: Next few days are important

Of course, religion in Pakistan only begets violence. Unabated extremism is destroying Pakistan. Calling terrorists martyrs even by socalled moderate organization like jamat proves that religious fanatics cannot be entrusted with saving Pakistan.

There is a goods transporters strike in the country which has pushed the price of vegetables right through the roof. Yet as we can see in Pakistan affairs section, Pakistanis are not concerned about it at all. They are more concerned about how to take revenge from others.

Re: Next few days are important

Khoji you are just presenting one sided picture, there were many sunnis including madressa students killed during that period as well. We need to stop the hatred that people have like the one you are showing here by justifying killings.

i think hate speech should be banned then there will be no so called justification from either side to kill each other. Muqawee, yes the deen is being missued but that is due to not taking strict actions against ALL terrorist, side picking by authorities/media/people will not take us any where.

Re: Next few days are important

so that means authorities being neutral, laws being neutral, will only help the country.

Re: Next few days are important

Yes. It requires being fair.

Re: Next few days are important

The media may not have reported it but the reaction is already bearing fruit…

ARMY CALLED TO QUELL CLASHES IN MULTAN AND CHISTIAN - DAWN.COM

LAHORE/RAWALPINDI: Violence erupted on Saturday in the southern city of Multan and Chishtian town, where civil authorities have called in troops to maintain law and order.

Re: Next few days are important

It's extremely dangerous when incidents of this nature take place, whereby the raging emotions of the public are high and the security forces are helpless in doing anything because its not under their control.
