Truth is often hard to hide. Genetics is something that can prove this beyond doubt... as for time frames and victors wiping the proverbial historical slate clean, they can only do this to an extent truth often has a way of shining through even the most darkest cover ups.
The Palestinains are as old as the land itself and the Jews are not of Levantine origin but like the Arabs both come from Arabia magna, the Hatuska and Palestinian people were there before the Jewish slaves found the promised land. History and archeology can prove this even in a court of law.

Well jews go back to the time of Moses, and also try to pull out that "oh look, even your quran says jews are the chosen ones", though any bad thing like them becoming monkeys automatically means islam is anti-semitic.
Just as I said so about palestineans, the same can be said about israelis as well as before they were just jews or danish, french, english, spanish etc jews who were more firmly entrenched in their host identities than muslims. Republicans really don't have anything to corner Obama on national security and/or israel, so they have to 'invent" stuff to be "different".

@Southie Jaffa oranges were a favourite staple produce of Arab farmers who perfected thier cultivation by the 19th Century. Back in the early part of that century these oranges came to be well known in the west for thier taste and aesthetic charecteristics. Jaffa oranges were also very tolerant to colder climates as well which meant this sweet variety supplanted many other medieteranian orange species and became the most sought after Orange.
Before the State of Isreal and long before Orange County California the Jaffa orange was in a way a globaly recognised brand in itself.
I suppose it could be compared to Madras massala status in India... though this can be somewhat argued. :)

"Invented" people or not, those people still lived on that land for thousands of years.
And name me a people who aren't "invented." All nations are built on a confluence of facts and myths.
The entire story of the Jewish people and their entire claim to the land of Israel is based on their own religious doctrine, and unsubstantiated legends.
Thats not to say they dont have a right to live, and live in their Israel, but are they any less an "invention" then the Palestinians?!?! The only difference is that the Israel narrative was invented far sooner.

I like the way the gentleman summarized it at the end "people who love this land wont do this. It is like they want tto own it. There is a difference between loving a woman and possessing her.

Western media has always been a propaganda machine. It's ironic that they claim that the Soviets used propaganda when the Americans are the masters of propaganda. You know you're good when much of the population doesn't even know that they're watching propaganda.

you guys are confusing marketing and fairness with propoganda. When there are two sides to an issue both sides market their views. Don't look at just one side and accuse the media for propoganda.
For example - Gingrich said it. That is one side. He was severely questioned in the debate - did you see that/ on top of that no less than Thomas Friedman wrote a NY Times piece castigating Gingrich and in the process explain very succinctly the Palestinian plight.

Gingrich is not a new Con, he is a political opportunist who will ingratiate himself with anyone who will pay, or give up a vote, regardless of ideological leaning.

Gingrich is a tool who couldn't even get on the primary ballot for Virginia, yet alone make an audacious comment such as this. I rate him the same as Fareed Zakaria, both of them are Political Lota's.

The fact that racism lies at the heart of this conflict aside, Newt is more than an idiot. Med911 is right. His ex-campaign strategist had this to say about his comments : “The Republican primary is one in which you have money coming primarily from pro-Israelis, Jewish organizations, and this is a play for that money. And you’re really not going to have a whole lot of folks involved from either the Arab world or from any area that might be affected by these comments that are going to be voting in any of these primaries any time soon.”

Yes but when one side of the debate is propagating ideas that are not factually correct, then it's no longer marketing. It's propaganda in the sense that most people think of: biased, often untrue, information. I agree with you that a view can be considered propaganda but his view is incorrect. And he's not an idiot (I think), he knows it's wrong but it's not in his interest to be right.
