Zanuck, Travis Beacham, Sam Worthington, Phil Hay, Gemma Arterton, Kevin De La Noy, Thomas Tull, Matt Manfredi, Jon Jashni, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos, William Fay, Jason Flemyng, Danny Huston, Nicholas Hoult, Polly Walker, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson: Movies & TV) sequel much more interesting than he was in the first film.
Worthington tells the site, “When I read Clash 2, they came to me the other day. I said, ‘I kinda dig where it’s going, but can we make the character more of this? Can we make it more of that? Can I get to play a lot more and get involved and have a lot more f–king fun than just being a young man who has to stand there and look pretty?’ I’m sick of doing that.” This is great news, because I’m tired of watching it.
To be fair, Worthington can only make his characters as interesting as the screenplay allows, but at least he’s acknowledging it and asking for writers to give him better roles.
In other Clash 2 news, the actor assures everyone that the new film will be shot in 3D – not converted post-production like the original, which drew criticism from viewers and critics alike.
And it wouldn’t be a Worthington chat without some Avatar talk. The actor says he’s excited about the re-release this summer with eight more minutes of footage, but has no idea what the new material will be. "I wish we added eight hours. I think the first cut I saw was about six hours long … " A six hour cut of Avatar? Yikes.
