So guys how long would you wait before you’re comfortable kissing a newborn?
Say someone really close to you has their first child. You go to the hospital and they hand over the baby to you. Now everyone in the room is looking at you expecting you to shower the baby with the mandatory show of affection, aka kisses. But you can’t get over the fact as to where the baby came from and the stuff it was covered with just hours ago!
So, would you try to get over your squeamishness and give a quick almost-didn’t-touch-the-skin peck or you’d do what I did: Wait for almost a week until all the swelling is off and any remanant of the slimy gooey stuff has been licked off by others.
OMG this is so cute and funny! I was exactly the same way, I thought YUCK man! Till I had my own. That changes EVERYthing!! And when it happens, its just the most wondrous, joyous awakening that you could ever imagine.
My niece was born and I was holding her 30 minutes later...I kissed her as soon as I held her. She was the most precious and beautiful thing I had ever seen and still is, Mashallah!
I LOVE babies, but I wudn't kiss them till they're about a month old. I'm not comfortable handling really tiny babies.. I might just kiss the hand or foot. Catanky, all new-borns do look the same.. and I've never figured out how people can say "Oh he/she looks just like the father/mother" the day it's born!
LOL! happens with me all the time..........i m nt good with kids meaning esp newborns cuz they r so fragile so evrytime someone says "oh y dont u hold him/her..." my face goes opsie....one doesnt want to make the other person feel bad or that i dont want to hold their baby or wateva..........but most do realise now that its just that i m nt very comfortable with it.
