O M G! Does my newborn have gas or what!!! The poor thing wakes up crying every few minutes. Nights are the hardest for me. Last night we were battling till 2 am when i had to hand him to my husband who battled for another couple of hours. We have tried gripe water and gas drops. They work but i guess not compleltely eliminate the problem. The only he wants to sleep is on my chest, on his tummy. That somehow soothes him. We also pump his legs and that works part of the time.
Please share any other remedies before i lose my mind because of lack of sleep. He is 2 weeks old if that makes a difference. A friend has suggested chamomile tea but i am not sure how to brew it, full strength or half? Any other ideas, tried and true?
Give him colic drops before the feed in this way he will not have gas make him burp before laying him Down if u r using bottle give breaks in his feed give only 1 to 2 ounces burp him thn if he ants more feed him massage him thn give him bath n wrap him thn make him sleep hope so it helps wasay my baby used 2 woke up every 3 hrs upto 6 months
devlish, it would be ok if he is waking every 2-3 hours. he wakes as soon as i lay him down.
ahmadjee there is no conclusive evidence that what i eat bothers him via breastfeeding so i am not sure. i am not even sure where to start cutting. Dairy? panjeeri? if i cut gassy foods, what can i even eat?
Ajwain water was what we used.I was BFing my daughter and used to give her a few sips of ajwain water during the day.
It was some water boiled(say about 2 glasses) with a few seeds of ajwain (4-5) and 1-2 seeds of saunf.
If you are BFing try drinking the same stuff (with more ajwain) yourself.People really believe it works.I am not sure what was more effective because we used this totka alongwith Mylicon drops and it all did seem to work.

Good luck..!
Yeah we did this too and ajwain water really works!
also, after feeding your lil munchkin, sit him on your leg, hold his neck with one hand and roll him in a circular pattern (kinda like kids do in madrassas). it will help him burp
I had my lil one sleeping on my chest for first 7 weeks and my mom thinks that was the reason he never had any gas issues but he also doesn't have a round head either so pick your battle.
Howlong does he take to burp? We have been doing stretches with our baby since he was a month old I will send those steps to tou..it helps mine a lot to pass gas before it creAtes any problems.
My little one take a burp in the first 5 minutes then burps again after 15 then again after 30 … and finally he is done. But then in another 30 minutes he is hungry again.
Here is the gas n colic routine that I got from the person who offers baby massages at babys doc's office..try this routine two times a day for two weeks.
1 do the "paddle" stroke six times, one hand following the other
2 hold baby knees together and push up into his tummy..hold for 30 secs...great for gas relief
3 gently release pressure, stroke legs
4 circle tummy-clockwise for 15secs(it gets things moving in there)
5 repeat pushing knees into tummy
6 release pressure, stroke legs (repeat 3times)
And here is the stretches that we do
1 1stretch both arms towards the head, then toward feet
2 hold babys arms at wrist, stretch to outside and cross at his chest
3 hold legs at ankles and cross them at stomach then straight out
4 hid arm at wrist, and opposite leg at ankle, bring the arm down n foot up towards the shoulder then cross arm n leg so that arm goes outside of leg. Do the opposite as well
5push knees in to chest
