Re: newborn curved foot
Thanks a lot muzna for such a lovely prayers . This is her last cast , on 31st of mAy we will remove her plaster , 1st June would be free of plaster for her , she will feel free and relax , I don’t have idea that what will be her reaction for" shoes " . May Allah protect my angel ..
Re: newborn curved foot
Inshallah.
Shoes are more restrictive. Don’t be alarmed…be prepared. She might not like it but the more consistent you are with the shoes…the less she will need them in the long run.
My son didn’t mind the casting…he hates the shoes though.
Also, as a precautionary measure…always get a second opinion on your treatment plans.
Re: newborn curved foot
My daughter is all disturbed : ( osay right foot ki saza mil gai hy fazool : ( tomorrow i am again going to see Dr to check either her shoes are fit or not , I would ask a question Ager main right paun wala shoes easy to move kar don tu koi farq tu nhi pare ga .. Reha you re right phir kese sambhala bachy ko ? Or Ager mujy shoes out of country b order Karne pare tu I will order , koi help karega ???
Re: newborn curved foot
Kya matlab saza?
Post pictures of her shoes here…I’ll let you know if they look fine. Ya phir PM me if you feel comfortable.
Many times docs will order shoes in bigger sizes because baby grows into them. We have to make sure we are tying them properly though.
Re: newborn curved foot
I think I understand…its her left foot that is affected only? She is only clubbed on the left? My son is bilateral = both feet are affected.
Saniya, its important that both feet remain in shoes at all times and at the designated angle prescribed by the ortho. It will affect her alignment and balance if you only have the affected foot in the shoe. You want to make sure at the end of this stage that she has balance and equal mobility in both feet.
The rule is to start out with 23 hours wear with only one hour break each day. No more and no less. Your diligence now will directly impact how soon or late she walks…so make sure not to give in to her crying.
Its VERY hard to put my son back in boots when he’s so happy to be out of them but I have to do it. If I don’t, I risk a bigger problem for him in the future.
Also, educate yourself on relapsing…what to watch out for if your child relapses.
If you need help ordering shoes…I can definitely help you find the right places to start.
Re: newborn curved foot
Right foot ko easy to move mat karna - basically baby ki saari mehnat zaya hogi agar aisa kiya.
Re: newborn curved foot
So was it a club foot (something called Telipes) or Curved foot?? From the treatment you listed here it seems the doctor are using Ponseti method which is good for Club foot deformity but won’t do much for Curved / high arch foot. In later good Orthotics and Physiotherapist input is required.
Re: newborn curved foot
Yes her left foot is effected, I will post her pic as well tell me the steps to post pic , I have visited Dr he told me everything …
Re: newborn curved foot

Bachay ko sambhalna parta hai. You have no choice…give her whatever she needs to make things easy on her during this time.
The first day of boots my baby didn’t sleep at all…he was UPSET and I felt terrible. I just held him and played with him until he fell asleep.
Re: newborn curved foot
Lots of holding, cuddling, mommy time, etc. Eventually, they do get used to it but until then…ignore everything and just focus on baby.
Re: newborn curved foot
Exactly!
I never ignore her even my life is disturbed , I can’t cook, take bath, go to washroom or eat properly , she is tensed , last day of cast was amazing for her , there was a break of 3 hours for her she played a lot I didn’t see her that much happy before, I thought boots will be easy to move for her but they are worst , she can’t move her legs like she is in a prison , it was her habit to bent her legs before sleeping now she is trying a lot to do so but she can’t , that’s why she is crying , she is forcefully trying to move her feet even I have noticed swelling and redness on her feet I had rub a small amount of lotion gently onto her feet , because of summer it is too hot over here I am in a great fix : ( we can’t use Ac for the whole day .. Kindly share any tips to make her happy , I mean which sort of toys I may buy to spend her time ..
Reha aap ka beta 3 months boot wala period clear Kar chuka hy ?? Night timings main 4 saal guzarna b boht hard hoga q k whenever I had gone to shopping or grocery everyone ask me isay Kya hua hy? Maine to ab outing hi chhor di hy car se neechy nhi oterti isay le Kar . People are disgusting passing comments , may Allah protect every child from this deformity because ilaaj expensive or 4 years ka hy bachay ka growing period disturb hi guzray ga ..

Re: newborn curved foot
I know how hard it is
Why don’t you blog a bit? Blogging helps me keep my sanity during this time. Casting I think is the easiest because at least the babies have some freedom. The boots are harder I think. There are other bars out there you can use that will be different and might help her move around more but if you can somehow get her used to the Ponseti bar, its best to stick with that.
For redness and swelling…its because of how tight the boots have to be. Before she develops blisters, try to find something you can put under the straps (its the middle strap isn’t it?) to distribute the pressure.
Are you using socks Saniya? Her feet will definitely blister if you’re not using socks in this heat. Use socks that are long, 100% cotton and NOT ribbed. Change them every night. If you notice she’s sweating a lot in her socks use some baby powder before putting her socks on.
Something like this: Babies R Us Neutral 4 Pack Quarter Socks - Babies R Us - Babies “R” Us
This website has pressure saddles listed on it…maybe you can find something similar in Pakistan:
MD Orthopaedics, Ponseti Clubfoot Products
A pressure saddle fits into the middle strap of the shoe and helps to distribute pressure for sensitive feet.
A few things to remember:
-No more than an hour of free time every night.
-VERY FEW will understand what you’re dealing with. Logon ki baton ka bura mat maano…because baby ki treatment lambi hai aur agar har baat ka humne bura manaya to nuqsaan humara hi hai. Tumhari bachi abhi bohot choti hai…us ke samne kabhi bhi mat zahir karna ke uske saat koi problem hai Nauzubillah. Araam se logon ko samjhao ke bass baby ka pair thora sa curvy tha…hojata hai aur bari common si cheez hai (and its true…its VERY common)…halka sa treatment hoga aur bass. Phir say something like Allah ka shukar hai ke koi bari baat nahin hai. Phir baat badal do.
It takes some time…you know how many times people have made faces at me at the grocery store? When I go anywhere with my baby people will always stare at his feet. It used to break my heart and sometimes I still have moments of weakness but now I don’t care. He’s my child and I am so proud of him…bhaar mein jayein doosray.
We are in 23 hour boot wear right now and just finished our second week. He is not happy with it at all…he hates being strapped in and I get upset when he gets upset but kya karoon? Its our job to make sure we do everything for them right now. I keep telling myself that my goal is to make sure he walks on time. So I just put them back on while he fights me…he cries, screams, kicks and is miserable for a while every single night. I just hold him and rock him until he falls asleep.
Ameen. Takleef to hoti hai…definitely. Just keep thinking of the day she will take her first steps…imagine her walking…Inshallah.
I also remind myself that Allah swt ne in bachon ko sehat di hai…which is the biggest gift. The day I found out my baby would be born with clubfoot was the same day a family in the room next to us was told their baby had trisomy 13. I wonder what their journey has been like…how it must be to have a child you know will never lead a normal life. Allah swt unki takleef asaan karay.
Re: newborn curved foot
Hey Saniya, let us know how baby is doing.
Has she adjusted to the shoes yet? How is she tolerating them? Will you still need better boots for her or are you happy with what you guys have?
Re: newborn curved foot
By the way, the Facebook group link I posted is a group of moms who’s children have CF.
If you need help, resources or boots for the baby…that group can definitely help.
Re: newborn curved foot
