Unfortunately India has not been able to fill slot vacated by Ganguly and now Laxman and Dravid are gone too. I had great hope from Pujara. I am glad he delivered.. he has potential to take one of the spots vacated by stalwarts.. I hope Virat Kohli steps up in test and grab one other spot. Raina cant be the answer for 3rd spot. He is too flashy and had too many technical issue. He should be limited to ODIs and T20s. We need to try out Badri, Manoj etc or find some one else.....
Raina is not made for tests. He is not technically correct enough. Just isn't. And that's fine. Cuz hes great in ODIs and T20s.
They are just going to ruin his confidence when he plays tests with good sides on bowling pitches and that will effect his ODI/T20 game.. this has happened before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
India wins 1st test by an inning and then some to spare as the inevitable march to the top continues. Ashwin takes 6 for 54 to accompany his 6 for ~35 in i1st innings. His 12 for ~ 89 is best performance by India bowler vs NZ. And his 1 st 10+ wkt haul in tests. Ojha took 6 wkts in the Test.
