I don't know any of them except for roosevelt but by location...this one is really close to grand central, walkable to time square and yummy kabob rolls and in midtown.

Its been a developing trend that people come to NYC for the 9-11 memorials to show support and to boost the local economy. So Sept and Oct have become a mini "high season". Even so, 550 a night seems pretty high, you should be able to easily find very nice accomodation at that price! And during non-peak times, I hope you at least get a suite and a view for that rate!!!!

nyah worst comes to worst I will take a hotel by the airport they still have rooms, will have to take cab back an forth but such is life. after meetings go rop off the mokey suit and bag an come back to manhattan, an then hea back at the end of the night.

Its best to contact the hotel directly because the discount travel places like expedia buy blocks of rooms at a discount and "pass the savings on". Once they run out of the rooms in the blocks they bought, you're out of luck but that doesnt mean that the hotel is full up and they may even be running specials on their own. Good luck, its a very busy time to be looking but you should be able to find something within that budget!

sadly i have to book all corp travel thru expedia, but i probably will have to go out of policy and get it directly, may have to deal with the expense policy wonks a bit but I should be able to make a case easily.

what abt getting a service apt then? my company has its out of towners stay in some comfy service apts in the financial district. i think they're like large studios or 1 bedroom suites. if you're interested, i'll make some calls and get you contact info.

Not to be critical here, but how comes all the threads like such, of normal/ordinary people get moved to Travel section (where no one comes to read) but some special people can start the thread anywhere and it stays there, even if it is not the right section

I have no problems with having it moved at all. although one can argue that since this si business related travel that it should be under career and education, or since I am inquiring about purchasing services it should be under bazaar.
I mean I would have figured some way to slip out of it anyways, so thats probably why mods decided not to bother. they dont call me teflon pir for nothing
