The kids are from ages 3 to 10.
New York City -- With Kids
In Times Square...the Toys R Us store has the Ferris wheel they can ride. And also the M&M store is fun too, lol. Harbor tour is good, takes you around Ellis Island and under the bridges....walk the Brooklyn Bridge if you get a chance, amazing views of manhattan!

I took 7 kids (11 years to 1 year old) to a Children's theatre.
While I'd love to take them to a Broadway play, that's a bit expensive and I wasn't sure how willing they would be to sit still - the Children's Theatre was perfect since it was interactive and the kids could speak and make noise during the show.

khatti…that sounds great…I’m not sure we’ll be able to walk the bridge but I love the Ferris wheel idea…cuz I was wondering how to make Times Square attractive for them…

I like Coney Island boardwalk too but it's currently closed because of Sandy. They plan to open it around memorial day. Check before you go.

You can (actually should) also take them to the museums esp museum of natural history. when you goto downtown for 9-11 memorial, go early morning, take ferry to statue of liberty and other islands. Also if they are ok, you can have a walk along brooklyn bridge. Shouldnt miss bronx zoo but that's like a whole day thing.
Dont see any attraction for them in Jakson heights :)

Aah yes...I forgot all about the natural history museum!! That is a must..the kids will love it, even the youngest ones..the dinosaur hall will fascinate them! And the big whale that hangs from the ceiling too!

sadly the statue of liberty (my earliest memory of NYC) is closed this weekend.....so we won't be able to take them there.
the empire state building just has to be done to knock it off their list.
they want to go to the zoo at Central Park cuz they want to see the penguins and they love the Madagascar movie......
I'm really keen on the Museum of Natural History. Will truly enjoy that. Apparently there's a really neat rainforest exhibit as well as the dinos and mammals....

Natural history is good too.
Oh and for all the exhibitions in natural history you may have to pay extra.

They didn’t have half the animals last time I went.. Bronx zoo is huge compared to this. A lot of walking but there are plenty of animals.
You should be able to see the prices for different exhibitions on their website. But if you skip the exhibitions, there are plenty of things to see on the regular ticket. Anywhere it says suggested fee.. they mean you don’t have to pay that price, you can give whatever you like. For example metropolitan museum has 20 dollars suggested fee. It’s run on donations, you can pay anything you want… even a penny.. lol.

Our son is. Only 18 months so doesn’t do Lego yet but I m sure he will enjoy t when he is a bit older..thanks for sharing the link!
