Id personally love to go to New York as ive never been but ive heard so much abt it...the shopping is meant to b great. I live in London and love the place but they do say that if u love London, u'll love New York cos its the city that never sleeps.

well after having one of them things- i felt like dying anyway…joking aside tho-i found it incredibly difficult to find a proper halaal food outlet in NYC, as a matter of fact it was even difficult finding vegitarian food! and them pretzels! LMAO…you peeps need a visit 2 wimmy rd/edgware rd/southall 2 see real paki/indian cuisine! i love the UK:blush:

you wont find a halal restaurant like you would in UK cities such as London, Manchester or Birmingham. we have desi restaurants next door to each other....thats how common they are. we have whole roads and areas dedicated to desi restaurants. and they are growing by the second....

when I think of New York…the picture that comes into my head is big tall buildings and so many of them that it looks suffocating…and an overcrowded place…it seems like a fast and hectic city…

so why would i want to come there :naraz:

HEY IMPULSE…u pretty much said it all…loads of big tall buildings, polluted air, and too many cars…Iv been down to London a few times, and honestly NYC aint got a thing on us! I stayed in a really good hotel, right in the middle of the city-so I pretty much got to see NY in its working week.

Mr Qureshi-I stayed at the Waldorf, and the closest thing to a desi restaurant/desi market area was a turkish guy with a trolley selling dodgy kebabs just down the road. I went into a couple of the souvenir shops/electrical stores-where i met some paki uncles, and they too were fed up of the city that is NY. One of them specifically mentioned Manchester and Trafford Centre as places he aspired to open up businesses in…It just felt as if the pakistani culture, which is so apparent in the day-to-day culture of the UK, was missing from NY. Perhaps something to do with the proportions of asians in each country??? UK-60mil ppl of which nearly 2mil r muslims, and majority of these r pakis. We r the biggest minority here, and therefore don’t have to compete with other sub-cultures, in other words we have established ourselves really well. Whereas pakis in USA, are like a drop of water in an ocean- no real effect!

Have you been to borough of Queens, Brooklyn or Bronx where places like Jackson Heights, Coney Island, HillSide, Jamaica, Flushing, Elmhurst, Astoria are?

Heck you have not been to Lexington Ave and 28 st. in Manhattan :hoonh:

PS: and muslims in Newyork are also close to 1.5 M [Legal ones] :hoonh:
