Absolutely celebrate it…why the heck not?
We’ve gone out but not with family…my parents do their own thing actually.
In the past, its been parties at home, dinners out, etc.
This year, we are making a nice steak dinner at home and toasting with sparkling grape juice…can’t really do much else right now.

What ever I do on the other nights. Sleeping or reading or watching some thing.
Well, with one exception , I make sure I do not drive.
Many new_year_new_luck_new_start kind, actually drive drunk that night. So…
I stay home.
How ever first year when I was here, I went downtown, stand in the open ,cold, with thousands of people. Felt good. I think…
But on the way back on subway… saw drunk dudes… doing drunk things… Did not feel good about it…
I have no idea why people go so nutty about new year?
I think they try to recover from the holyness shock they get on 25th, so they do some thing un holy on 31st…
Or try to hold on to Christmas happiness for little longer, by doing only thing they know… women and booz :halo:

Nada. I used to get all hyped over new year’s eve but past couple of years, it lost its charm. Now it’s just like any other night.

It’s a bigger deal for my mom than it is for me. She makes it a point to wish us a happy new year. I don’t really feel a strong urge to even do that. I also didn’t make any resolutions. But I will say that the past year was bitter at the start but with several sweet notes along the way…as well as some important lessons that had to be learned the hard way…but that were necessary and led to some spiritual growth Alhumdolillah.
