About awami suit. To fulfil his slogan/moto of Roti, Kapra aur makan, Bhutto not only established roti plants( for paki pakai taza roti) but introduced ready made men’s cotton Qameez shalwar suits which were available at general stores in Karachi in mid 70’s for fairly cheap price. They were called Awami suits.
In fact, it was because of Bhutto, Qameez Shalwar was recognised as office attire in Pakistan and even officer class started to wear that in offices
paki pakai taza roti was not that good but if you made a paratha out of that (its national campaign on TV used to show, how to make paratha out of that). it used to taste really good.
