New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

LOL , I guess for you marriage is the last chance to hit it big .
"bara admi bun-nay ka akhree mouqa ? "

First of all I'll admit to being kam-ilm with respect to Islamic history - but it was my understanding that Janab-e-Khadija (AS) left the running of her business to our Prophet after they married. So while at the time of her marriage, she was a prosperous business owner (wealthier in material goods than our Prophet) - after marriage, she was able to delegate the responsbilities of managing the business to her husband.

The second distinction is that our Prophet lived a very simple life. While we all aspire to emulate and the follow the path of our Prophet, the truth is that most of us do want to benefit from material comforts. So in the current context the question becomes, after marriage who should be responsible for providing such a lifestyle for the family?

 1. Already do that and help my mom around the house when i am on vacation.

2) inviting other couples on the weekend and cooking for a 20-person dawat,

3 of us guys cooked for 50 people this weekend in Darfur. 20 people in a Western Country where you actually have power and ovens, pffft no bloody problem.

3) driving the kids to school and all of their afterschool activities, including doing their homework with them and taking them to Islamic school,
Been doing that for nephews and neices and cousins kids for a few years now.

4) no complaints if she wants to support her family back home and the budget doesn't allow for the sparkly things you saw in the mall (like let's say the 40" plasma screen)
This is contrary to your original example. Don't change the situation because you are irritated by most missy.

5) the Maybach going to her rather than you - after all she's the one wining and dining the business clients - I guess that means you're stuck with the minivan
Minivan? SUV. Porsche. Nothing less. And even then I am coming down a long way from a Mayback to a Porsche. Also snookums if she can afford one maybach, she can afford two.

6) and at the end of your long day, you never get to plead a headache if you're tired.

You are talking to a man. You know any man who is not ready to have sex?

I'm a little surprised that more guys are not bothered by the idea that their wife earns signficantly more than them and that more women are okay with being the primary breadwinner in the family. I guess others of this board are more evolved than I am. For myself, I know that I wouldn't be happy if he couldn't support us (not with a lavish a lifestyle - but a modest one) on his salary and that my working was mandatory just to make ends meet.
Why would it bother them? The fact that your assumptions are wrong should bother you more though. Reassess the way you view Pakistani men should be a start.

Not true. Not sure where this even comes from. The Prophet recieved his first wahi at 40, I think, and then after that they were so preoccupied with preaching and trying not to get killed, the business was bound to be left behind.

:k:

What is a maybach?

Re: New wrinkle in “she earns more than him issue”…

One hell of a car.

Maybach - Google Search

add hot homemade breakfast in the list, and I am all YES :D

oh for sure. Buffett (an incredibly wise man in my book) advises ppl to marry above their financial status. and as a loyal Buffett fan, I have every intention of doing just that by cashing in on my Gulab Chandio looks and mediocre career. sugar mommas zindabad.

plus marriage is a great financial transaction (especially if you charge ppl a ticket for attending). tax breaks all over the place, income splitting, double the TFSA contribution room, etc. and think about the free cash flow, operating leverage, etc. all the financial incentives to make anyone fall in love.

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

Yeah then she's gonna have 4-5 kids and stay at home while you 4 jobs, cause you know you wanna send them kids to ivy league schools

three things:

1) I'm not marrying a housewife aka leech (let the fun begin). I intend to be the leech/dead weight in the relationship.
1) the age range I'm looking at (at least early 40s)... she probably won't be able to have kids...
2) I plan on getting a vasectomy before getting married. so good luck to her for trying to have kids with me.

I wasn't born yesterday you know. I've thought this thing through.

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

Your plan will fail, I'm sure of it. In order to bag a cougar you need to look like salman khan, not govinda

Re: New wrinkle in “she earns more than him issue”…

^ :omg:

durr fittay munh...

at least I don't need hair plugs like that steroid pumped retard.

:o

Cheat!

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

Gross. Gulab Chandio looks like my chaachaa.

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

And while we're on the subject, I would love to be a trophy wife someday

Re: New wrinkle in “she earns more than him issue”…

I’ve been fascinated by Gulab Chandio since I was a kid. so, I guess it’s not surprising that I grew up to be just like him. Alhamdolillah.

this is what a trophy husband looks like these days (don’t ask me to explain what he’s doing. I have no idea):

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

Isn't Gulab Chandio that sindhi actor?
Looks aside, he did act really good.

Re: New wrinkle in "she earns more than him issue"...

"Looks aside"

what the... are you saying he's not good looking?

He's obviously putting that poor girl in a headlock and tryna choke her. Tell me why.
