New Work-Dulhan

Man.. this took forever to finish. If only you could see the detail. It took a couple hours a day for 5 days to finally finish this. I worked on the jewelry for soooo long and then decided to change it! Argh, I’m too much of a perfectionist.

I didn’t even attempt a background. I was fed up with it, hah! I’ll probably put one in later though.

This wasn’t intended to look like a bride, but it sort of turned out like that. A while ago I had a showing of illustrations of south asian brides from all over Pakistan and India (and the types of clothing and jewelry that accompanied them. Man, it was EXHAUSTING. So this kind of spun off from that.

Details:

Head/Face

Hands/Mehndi

Re: New Work-Dulhan

Oh wow! This is just awesome... Please yeah share the details of what used..paint, pencil, photoshop, etc...

The jewelry is so cute...did you use phtoshop to give that print kind of effect?

I used photoshop. I'm actually trying to size down portions of the drawing right now (but it's incredibly large so photoshop is taking it's sweet ol' time), so I can show details from it (you can't see how much in the one picture).

First I sketched the idea in pencil, then I photographed it, and inked and colored in photoshop. I probably used about 40 layers to get the desired effect, hah!

Re: New Work-Dulhan

Oh man is that gorgeous. Wow! Waiting for the details.

They're up! :D

Re: New Work-Dulhan

Ok so how did you do the pattern on the dress. And the mehendi? What size brush did you use?

I used some brushes and created my own. I also derived different patterns from some templates.

The brush sizes I used for the mehndi were 1 through 4.

Re: New Work-Dulhan

wonderful work. How large in pixels is it? how did you make the flame?

The actual work was 11000 pixels high, and I forgot the width. I think 4000 pixels. I had to resize it QUITE a bit.

The flame was made with the help of a pre-made brush. However, I had to modify it to get the exact results I wanted.

Re: New Work-Dulhan

Re: New Work-Dulhan

Wow , that is amazing work, just brilliant

Thanks ^.^

I wish I would have spent more time on her face and the background, but I was fed up with it!

It's the magic of layering and opacity :D

I used photoshop for this.
