looks like faakhir baba has finally come to his senses. Asim reza will direct it, not some hindian latka-jhatka director.
Meanwhile ace director Asim Raza is busy shooting for Faakhir Mehmood’s new video ‘Mahi Ve’ which is a part of his upcoming album Mantra. According to Faakhir, the song has a lot of musical flavours to it, his penchant for salsa, can also be noticed in the song and then its Faakhir’s patent mix with Pakistani groove, he insists. “The video of this song is set in the 1920’s era as my song has live sax in it which gives it a very jazzy touch,” informs the singer. The video is a non-sponsored venture unlike the Dil Ruba video, which had Pantene as a sponsor and one can see the Pantene billboard shots in the video. After a string of mundane videos, Faakhir has decided to go back to Asim, this time, without a corporate sponsor. The shooting is taking place in one of the old buildings in Karachi and Asim wants to make something really good. Music videos by Asim Raza have become a rarity; he has only done Hadiqa Kayani’s video, ‘Mahi’ recently, coincidentally this time, its ‘Mahi Ve’. Talking about this video, Asim said, “Faakhir is solely investing in the video and there is no sponsor, I want to make something striking.” We hope for something good from the old hand in music direction.
