As I said, I’ve lost major touch with my background since I currently live in a redneck state where the closest thing to a brown person is a white dude with a tan…
My grandmother is where I get my Pathan side from. She is extremely pale and has green eyes. She can speak both Punjabi and Pashto since she was born in pre-partition India, and just recently, she has been telling me stories about her childhood in India and then the migration to Pakistan after the partition, and ever since then I became interested.

Ever since i watched sweet home alabama i think all people from south have these cool accents. Did you know Col Sanders from Kentucky was 60 before he come up with his recipe?And he had to visit 1000 restaurants before someone bought his recipe. Im guessing its hard to find a desi person..but tanning is def popular among white folk. Did you meet many indians in other places you lived in? What was the experience like? were they friendly?

That’s pretty cool about your grandmother. Ive always been interested in pashto. Where was she from in India? How was her childhood like? I like hearing stories from my nani about pre-partition. Lot of people where she lived stayed and didn’t go. Only one family went a few years before partition. She used to tell me stories of Akbar, a Mughal emperor, and his trusty advisor Birbal. Don’t worry if u visit the culture and showbiz forum you’l get in touch very soon. Also GS cafe is good as well. general-has some controversial topics. I wrote some interesting comments in there
