Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

Looks like Little Mosque on the Prairie was a much better reflection....

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

show is no going to last, the camp appeal of that will die.
I dont think I will waste time on it.

PCG, I had written a pilot back in 1999-2000 timeframe, but the desi group who had asked me to write it bungled things desi style.

the issue is that out of non desi media there simply is no interest, heck even whoopi could not pull off a show..although I do recall some interesting dialogue from the show..something along teh lines of.

whoopi- I am scared to get on a plane when I see of your people around
irani dude- and for me when i see one of your people on teh subway, you dont ride teh plane, we dont ride teh subway..

either way, thre is some great talent out there, anyone who has seen the axis of eveil comedy tour will know what I am talking about. If you ahve not seen it, se if you can find clips on youtube..ahmed ahmed and Maz Jobrani are phenomenal. No need for hacks like me to even try.

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

I heard Little Mosque on the Prairie is returning in september.

http://www.axisofevilcomedy.com/

check this site out they have some clips, and go watch the show when they are in your city/state/region

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

They should just remake "little mosque on the prairie" for the American audience and change certain things accordingly to make it funnier.

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

The problem is that no sitcom will make anyone understand Muslims better, especially considering that "Muslims" aren't exactly a nationality. It would help us as much as Fresh Prince of Bel-Air helped white people understand black people, which wasn't much.

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

Little Mosque on the Prairie was terrible.

I think this Aliens in America show could be better if they got rid of the kid playing the muslim - he exaggerates and overacts. And if they can make his character look more real. No one looks like that getting off the plane.

Re: New TV sitcom on muslims

I think it was more of the Cosby Show that made whites get a different perspective on Blacks....

the problem is Muslims are not that big of a minority group to be given their own sitcom.

Latinos had George Lopez and that got canceled due to low ratings. Black sitcoms only do well with Black viewers. White sitcoms generally appeal to everyone like Seinfeld or Friends, etc...

You start your own tv and name it: Invaders at Earth
