i dont know it may just be me but…i think that although the looong bridal kameez many of the designers are doing these are in fashion and look stunning when the bride is stood up but when she is sat down it looks really awkward ‘flopping’ over the knees or sticking out at the sides (if it is a jacket).
i still prefer the knee length top…

^ depends on the material and kaam. if its stiff, then yes, it'll be awkward and flop open. if its softer, it'll drape nicely. also depends on if the shirt is front open or not.

Startdust, I think if you like to wear a short shirt for your wedding day then just wear it! I'm just saying this more for me than anyone else!
I do like designer creations and enjoy the latest runways as much as the next girl but really I think fashion just fads! Imagine looking back at your wedding pictures in some god-awful creation and colours that hurt your eyes, trying to explain to your daughter that 'everyone was doing it in those days' hehe!
Well I'm wearing a red lengha with turquoise border and a short shirt! And I plan to rock it!
I agree with Sabrina81 its your wedding wear what you like =) if you are happy with it that's all that matters

one more thing girls I need suggestions..am just about 5'3" ..i know really long shirts are quite in and so are gown style cholis. do you think with this height of mine, should I opt for a short traditional shirt or go for the longer one??

Mmmmm… what are gown style cholis? 
I am 5’4" and comfortably wear shirts that are 47 in length and they look elegant. Why don’t you opt for a mid thigh length shirt?

Do shorten the names and remove dots, dashes and spaces otherwise the photos will not upload.
i am 5-4 and on my brothers wedding i wore sana safinaz and elan and they were all from 48 to 50 inches long.. with 4 inches heels. All good!
umm…as in long shirts with open fronts. i wish i had a picture to show you what i meant..
hmm am thinking of staying in bw..not too long and not too short.
