New to Gup Shup

Salaam Gup Shupians,

I am new here and looking to connect with other virtual Pakistanis. My Urdu is rusty so hopefully will get to practice it as well.

About myself: I am a sales consultant - work mostly from home. Have two lovable children and a wonderful husband. Interests include: gardening, traveling and eating out.

Are there any other people here who work from home or aspire to?

Walaykum Assalaam Little Princess and thank you GR8 LEO (I am a Leo too if you are referring to the zodiac).

Sweet! Love the opportunity to brush up my Urdu.

I Googled 'Islamic forums' and Gup Shup was one of them.

Re: New to Gup Shup

I am in US. I have been to KSA - Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh - was there since I was 3 months old until I was 18 years old. Which city are you in? How do you like it? How is the social atmosphere there for Pakistanis? I loved Jeddah, even though I was very young when I was there but I still remember some things.

My oldest daughter is 10 years old and youngest just turned 2. He is going through his 'terrible twos' phase, hopefully will come out of it soon. Do you have children?

I love chocolates! Especially the dark ones. I also love Pakistani food - love, love, love beef biryani with the fried onions, zaafairan (saffron) and dahi, korma, chappli kabab, dahi baray; I can go on and on and on on this topic. Other than food, I love Wii games, just got introduced to it by my daughter and now me and my husband both love beating each other. It does leave our arms sore :)

Re: New to Gup Shup

i live in khobar…go to dammam everyday for work…

:cb: u play games…usually only guys like tht…but its good to hv some time like this to spend with hubby…

i love ksa…born and brought up here..and still here…

Re: New to Gup Shup

hii .. n .. :welcome:

Re: New to Gup Shup

Ha! I guess it is considered ‘masculine’ to play games. lol that’s funny that culture differences can be so contrasting! I like the way you put it though.

Is the Pakistani school still there? I think it was called Pakistani Community School. Me and my older sister went there. Our principal was Apa Jii and then later on Mrs. Rathore. Have you met them?

What do you do?

Re: New to Gup Shup

Re: New to Gup Shup

Sorry, after I posted it, I felt I was being sarcastic

I remember being stuck in jobs that I didn't like and took me years before I realized I had to switch to something I truly enjoyed.

Do you hope to change the career sometime?

Re: New to Gup Shup

sarcastic? with me ? :konfused:

Re: New to Gup Shup

I felt my sentence came out sounding sarcastic.
