Whats the study about? Can someone please translate?
Re: New Study:
people who eat fast food always sad.
Re: New Study:
lol thats all it says in the article? Hmm and how did they come to that conclusion?
Re: New Study:
according to article 9000 people who dont eat fast food like pizza, burger, etc and never been in dperession were under observation for 6 month. No sadness/depression reported.
then same group of people asked to eat fast food for next 6 month, 493 were found depressed and addicted to anti depressant drugs.
Re: New Study:
sachi?
I am really critical of such studies I need to know method, design and meausre taken to really give my opinion on the study itself.
Re: New Study:
it also says that junk food is usually eaten by single people who worked more than 45 hrs per week. it impacts negatively and make them sad. 50% could possibly effect from depression who eat fast food.
in the end researchers said that it still needs more investigation. (Public Health Nutrition Journal)

Re: New Study:
That’s interesting. There could be a few different variables at play here. PHN seems like a reliable source but still a more in depth analysis can tell us how significant the findings were.
Thanks for the translation services STA.
Re: New Study:
you are welcome.
I personally dont eat fast food. I prefer subway/ some vegi food with less amount of cheese. ![]()
Re: New Study:
Article does not tell.
Conclusion might be right but approach might be wrong. I am not sure if fast food makes you sad, or happy people do not eat fast food.
Re: New Study:
Well yes, fast food is should not be part of anyones diet. It’s empty calories with no nutrients. Subway is a much better option compared to mcdonalds and the likes.
Re: New Study:
Totally agree, thats why I said there could be many variables at play. We dont’ even know which measures they took and how the study was done.
EDIT: or maybe its job satisfaction or type of job thats the cause of depression and not fast food.
Re: New Study:
That is what I was thinking. For example, working more can lead to depression and working more can lead to eating fast food. Rather than eating fast food leads to depression.
Re: New Study:
Exactly, it’s just impossible to read a news article and judge the studies validity.
