Great thread!

I need some songs as well! I have been way behind on listening to desi music (haven’t listened to it for a few years now!)

Farisha that songs nice but they say something about kalma which is meant to be wrong. There are so many beautiful songs but the lyrics always ruin it. example, khuda jane from bachna ae haseeno is such a lovely song but they say "ban gaye ho tum mere khuda" then theres 'tuj mein rab dikta hai' then theres that tere liye song, where they say 'chor di khudayi maine tere liye' Its so annoying, don't understand why they have to put those words in. Its shirk to even listen to them apparantly.

Here are some quite nice ones

haan tu hai and zara si from jannat
u and i from de dana dan
tera hone laga hoon from ajab prem ki gajab kahani
jogi from bachna ae haseeno

Everyone please give more suggestions as I am also looking for some songs for my brothers wedding xxxx

you're right sadia! i'm sorry i didn't realize it at all, I never really pay attention the lyrics of hindi songs. :/ but yeah, a LOT of them have phrases that suggest shirk ideaology. I've noticed in a few songs also such as "sajda" from my name is khan and of course tuj mein rab dikta hai. Astagfurallah, and i hope you guys pardon me for promoting anything of the sort!

Farisha you don't have to say sorry you obviously didn't realise thats why :) There are many songs with wordings like that, some we don't even realise. Like chaiya chaiya, now everyone loves that song but if you listen to it, they say some really wrong things.

Anyway can you think of any other good songs that can be played. I am looking for songs for brothers walima day. :) xxx
