New Prophet Appears in Pakistan !!

Another ‘Enlightened leader’ appears and is immediately dubbed a prophet to malign & discredit him. Reminds me of the witch-hunt of the Christian middle ages with the burning at stakes of people discoursing new ideas & thoughts.

There is no room for new thoughts or freedom of speech in Islam. New thoughts & thinking represent the biggest danger to Orthodox Islam and the mullahs & ayatollahs will do all to ensure the present status quo including murder, in the name of Allah, of course.

Quote:
A court in the Pakistan city of Lahore has sentenced to death a Muslim spiritual leader on charges of blasphemy.

Sixty-year-old Mohammed Yusuf Ali was found guilty under the controversial blasphemy law for misguiding Muslims by presenting himself as a prophet of Islam. Mohammed Yusuf Ali has been at the centre of a religious controversy in Pakistan for the last few years. A former army officer, Mr Ali was a cult figure for his followers, who thought he had unique spiritual powers. But many Islamic groups described him as an imposter who they said was working against the teachings of Islam.

He was arrested about three years ago after a private complaint. During the trial that lasted for more than a year, Mr Ali consistently denied the charges. The judge however declared in his verdict that there was irrefutable evidence that he had tried to present himself as a prophet of Islam and under the country’s blasphemy law, sentenced him to death.

Earlier this year, the military ruler, General Pervez Musharraf, changed the legal procedure to discourage the misuse of the blasphemy law. But following pressure from the Islamic group, he soon took back the decision. UNQUOTE.

Your point is? They did a good thing killing him. No prophet-hood after Mohammed! Bye!

Thank you for your candid view. But before you have him killed, maybe be-headed, in an open stadium with mothers & children in attendence and coca cola being served to watch the epochal event, it would be wise to hear what he may have to say. And, from what I have read to-date he has not claimed to be a "prophet". And, having different opinions/thinking is not cause to loose one's head.?

a prophet a day, keeps profit away.

RooprKiRani and Shaheen, I agree eith you'll, no prophet after Mohammed(PBUH).

No prophets from God after Muhammed(P.B.U.H)
but these prophets (mad people) would be found everywhere. No need to give them any importance and make them popular.

Young Brat,

Holy Smokes! A good come back, indeed!
He was accused of being a prophet! I guess it's still in the court.

Thinking people & 'wise men' must be getting scarce in Pakistan in which case we can expect few more such cases in the near future!

Beware, when visiting Pakistan please pretend to be stupid; being wise is not good for your health anymore.

Degas,

Good point! The mere publicity of this trial will bring out the prophets from their closet.

zman,
I agree that there can be no more prophet in Islam. But, let's not rush in separting his head from rest of his body.

Ahl_e_Sunnah–thank u

Simple procedure if you wana see if prophethood declared is Authentic. Have the man claiming to be prophet walk on water. If he can do it, than he is, and if he drowns well he drowns. lol.

Fe amaan allah.
