Alan Shearer
Teddy Sherringham
Michael Owen

And on 4 are Ruud, Thierry Henry, James Beattie so already you can see who the leading guns are as far as the goal scorers are going - oh and who says the old horse don’t have it in them anymore - the old pairing of Shearer and Sherringham top!

Give Chelsea some time. The manager has practically a whole new squad to work with, and despite that he's delivering the goods. Those in the media who were predicting Ranieri to be the first managerial casualty of the season must be choking on their words. In fact, even after the 5-0 victory this weekend they were still talking about rumours that Erikson is going to take over!!!!! So far he has hardly put a foot wrong. The team is still gelling together, and each time i see them play, they look better and better. At this point in time at least, replacing Ranieri would be an extremely unpopular move for Abramovich. The fans seem to have really gotten behind Ranieri, and if you ask most chelsea fans, they would say that on the evidence of his spell in charge of England, having Erikson in charge at Stamford Bridge would be a step back.

Geez…Aresenal need a life - The way they have humiliated Ruud van Nistelrooy on the field - their points should have been deducted of committing such an immoral act.

MU’s play worked - however - the match was a deadlock held 0-0 - They fraustrated Arsenal who just recently humiliated by Inter Milian in the Champions Leauge.

Anyhow i reckon that Arsenal (yes this early in the season) have now thrown away the league - they will now be without Patric Viera and probably Martin Keown for their matches against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Keown was an idiot for what he did - he’s now old - i mean surely he would have known that he’d be suspended for his actions - and where the hell does Viera get off saying Ruud is a cheat - it ain’t like he dived or anything is it? Okay granted his challenge was bad but there was intent from Viera to retaliate and kick Ruud - and then there was more when the players went off - To add to all the taunting that Ruud got.

Okay fair’s fair he did play their card them and he ain’t no angel but Arsenal (practically all of them) played right into his hands.

Anyhow i reckon Arsenal have now thrown the title away - we(Newcastle) play them next on Friday night.

:smokin2:

so another night of great expectations for newcastle will prove fruitless. whats new ;)

as far as the ManU and arsenal match, lets see what the FA has to say.

buddy u r absolutely right…i m an Arsenal fan but i agree that was’nt the right way to protest against Ruud’s over acting…
but don t under estimate them…may be the defeat against Inter Milan will have an effect of a catalyst on their performance…they r not out of the game…(points table shows it too  )

Arsenal beat New Castle and gained the top position on the charts again...tough ones to follow i.e Chelsea and Liverpool..but after that it will be relatively easier...i think they r in a good formation even with a few injured stars.

Friend - bear this with me but what i think is that you(Arsenal) are a bunch of cheats and that’s all you ever will be - By far you are the most unpopular team in the league and will always remain so. You cheated again last night to beat us(Newcastle United) - we were the better team by miles and that was never a penalty! - And even still when the penalty was taken there were only the 10 players inside the area at the time! You know I can’t be bothered with Soccer anymore - i just hope that Arsenal don’t win a thing this season and they possibly make it to a final or something but then they get screwed by the decisions which ends up costing them.

:smokin2:

Defeat is very difficult to take. Tsk Tsk.

Talha bhai!..i still believe that you know alot more than me about soccer…but with due respect can i ask that if someone touches hand to the ball in penalty area, what the decision would be?..as far as i know, its a penalty kick…take it easy…u don t wanna c us(Arsenal)on top but its the reality that unfortunately for u, we rrrrrr and we willllllllll…

ehsan - i do take defeat but not if screwed by refs decision.

the speciALIst - Though i don’t like Arsenal - and hate them with passion(Finally I said it :hehe: ) but don’t get me wrong - i do admire all the acheivements Arsenal have got - and i do respect Arsene in achieving all that he has with Arsenal and establishing them as one of the best sides in the country but damn at times he can make you laugh more than the average comedian! I mean did he really think that Arsenal could go the whole damn campaign unbeaten last year? And all that rubbish of being the first side in history to win the League and Cup double in back to back seasons? I mean if the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Manchester United all couldn’t do it in their dominant era’s what the hell made Arsene think he could? And then there was the unbelievable stupidity at the end of last season when he claimed that Arsenal were still the better side over the whole season which is rubbish! At times Arsene does remind you of the Iraqi media Spokesmen during the war!

[thumb=D]_39413210_shearer_em_200x2452.JPG[/thumb]

Yes! Come on! Our season is finally up and running! And Shearer bags just his 250th league goal! See - whenever i say that he is possibly one of the greatest English players of all time everyone laughs at me but he is a true legend - i think he is in the top 10 of all time English League Soccer scorers - what an achievement - Alongside say Geroge Weah and Del Piero he is one of the greats of our era - and a sefinate legend.

:smokin2:

hahahahaha, this is the biggest joke of our era! :hehe:

agreed Weah and Del Piero are greats, but Shearer is in my eyes a class lower. Of course he scores a lot of goals, but he doesnt have as much technique and dribbling skills as these two. Also, ur forgetting strikers like Baggio, Ronaldo, Raul. These ppl have also been very successfull with their clubs (internationally)

talha u support the magpies 2 nice one man!!! now we have 2 supporters on gs… :k: there isn’t a better footie club in the whole wide world especially for geordies dat is. :dhimpak:

i really really wish we start winning away and at home more often then we have ever before we need to put the disappointment of the champions league miss and the dreadsul start to the season behind us.

come on the magpies… * there’s only one sir bobby robson… there’s only one sir bobby robson… lallaaaaa laaaaaaaaaaa sir bobby robson… *

shearer is indeed a great player, too bad he is at Newcastle. can someone remind me, when was the last time newcastle actually accomplished something.

sounds like sour grapes..sheesh sour grapefruit even.

Yeah yeah you know what i meant!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahem i’ll try and be diplomatic in my response but its a bit hard when you post something like that!

Okay i would have to say that Internationally Shearer could have scored more yes but don’t forget he did retire before the age of 30! He has scored 30 goals and does also hold the Under 21 record for most goals scored for England - or co hold it anyway.

He is the second highest scorer for us (Newcastle) of all time behind Jackie Milburn (a total and utter legend) and his ability to hold the ball up for people to play off him is the damn best in the world.

Don’t forget he did Snub Manchester United when they wanted him and to this day they have always been bitter about it knowing that if he had played for them, no doubt they would have been the greatest Soccer Club of all time - no questions asked - they would have probably won the Champions League at least say 5 times or so since he would have joined them.

Okay so he doesn’t dribble all that much and have a lot of “Skills” - but so what if he has no fancy footwork or rubbish like that? He can strike a ball cleaner than anyone - he has power, accuracy, strength, knowledge and love of the game - and all round great player.

And i disagree about Ronaldo - i doubt he will ever be one of the true greats. Raul, yes for sure - possibly Spain’s greatest ever player? And Baggio too - but not Ronaldo.

Oh yeah and also before we signed him - Barcalona had made a 20 Million+ bid for too (ironically it was Sir Bobby who was actually in charge of them at the time!) and he also refused to play for them.

He smashed the world transfer record and remember he was our and was England’s captain - he’s not just a player but also a great leader too!

:smokin2:

We(Newcastle) ain’t won anything in years but don’t forget that about 7 or 8 years ago we were in the old Division 2 and now we’re fighting for the title these days - we will get some silverware soon - and yes we have acheived certain things - we have the second biggest victory in the history of the Premiership and have the joint record of the most amount of goals scored in a match by an individual (and the other player (Andy Cole) is another one of out old boys) - and also Shearer and Cole also hold the joint record for the most amount of goals in a season since the start of the Premiership (34) though all be it Shearer’s was with Blackburn but Andy’s was with us - Oh one thing more - we have made it to the Cup final two years running in the 90’s too mate - and i reckon we will manage to win something this season - we are second favourites to win the League Cup - i know it ain’t much but it’s a start.

:smokin2:

Okay so with the point they required against Birmingham - Chelsea go top of the league - though the question is how long will they last up there?

Massive match coming up this weekend - Arsenal against Chelsea - I look forward to that! Whoever wins it will go 3 points clear of the other and either one, three or four ahead of Manchester United!

:smokin2:

Arsenal somehow have managed to come out of this tough spell of games unbeaten…woah! I didn’t say that! Anyhow i’ve only seen bits and bobs of the action this weekend - i’m reading through the match reports at the moment and just seeing the rest of the results.

[thumb=D]_39467874_ameovie_pa.JPG[/thumb]

We won against local rivals Middlesbrough (Haha D-Vid!) - and moved to 11th spot in the Premiership - slowly but surely NewCastle United are catching up

Arsenal beat Chelsea because of a howler from Carlo in goal.

[thumb=D]_39467418_keanegoal_get.JPG[/thumb]

Old rivals Manchester United and Leeds were up against each other - United won by a solitary Roy Keane goal - last 10 mins were the exciting! - Manchester City beat Bolton by 6 to 2 - not the best of times in Manchester for Big Sam this time around - conceded 10 in 2 matches in the league this season and Gerrard lost 3 matches in a row for the first time in his manager career at Liverpool.

:smokin2:

Okay as for the weekend fixtures well one truly huge shock - Manchester United beaten by Fulham for the first time in some 40 years - and at Old Trafford even! What a shock - i wouldn’t say Manchester United lost it fair and square - the first goal(s) that United conceded at home this season and Bolton’s first defeat at home since January - though they were screwed by bad decisions - awful game for the refferee. Some more blunders too from Goalkeepers - Paul Robinson’s being the biggest howler.

Blackburn Rovers continue to lose in their hideous run - things are just going from bad to worse for them.

But the story of the weekend (so far anyway) has to be Wolves match against Leicester. I mean what a game - The foxes were 3 up by the end of the first 45 buut what a comeback at the end by Wolves - that sort of a comeback was in our league - boy Newcastle have had some great fightbacks over the years and Wolverhampton’s performance today could be mistaken as being one of ours – Hehe and of course it does bring back memories of our match with Leicester City when we won 4 - 3 and Alan Shearer scored a hat–trick in 13 minutes - Great stuff - Easy three nothing win for us(Newcastle United) - Alan on the score sheet again and i assume a great header by Gary Speed - we have now moved to the rank 8 in Premiership table - Chelesa for the first time tops the Premiership Table - Arsenal is at 2nd followed by MU who are at 3rd - i’ll post the full table later.

Oh and Alan Shearer is now a clear leader in the Goalscorers list with 9 goals - Michael Owen scoring too on return from his injury.

:smokin2:

Arsenal and Spurs both drew - and wait for it, Arsene Wenger called Charlton's Matt Holland a Diver - need i comment?
