Well - Firstly I am a Man United Supporter (we used to live in Salford when I was a kid so a proper supporter!!).
I think the top 5 will be like this:
Man Utd - We will be better without Veron & Beckham as was the case last season when Becks was injured.
Liverpool - I hate to say it but they have under-achieved for a long time and this year they will get the runner up spot.
Arsenal - They have peaked and will be on their way down.
Newcastle - Bobby Robson will fire them into 4th
Chelsea - Their manager Renierry will be the first casualty of the season after a poor start. Martin O Neil will take over and they will finish a respectable 5th.
Yup! - Ruud has to be favourite - he just seems to score goals for fun - and to be honest is certainly one of the best in the world at the moment - With Gianfranco Zola having transferred to Calgari I guess - there could be a change in the other runners. The usuals will all be there - i.e. Alan Shearer (who’s been the best player the Premiership has ever seen), Thierry Henry, James Beatie (who will certainly be one to watch especially if he teams up with Kevin Phillips) - and possibly the re-emergance of Michael Owen.
Also a few new other players could make a push - one of the 4 strikers now at tottenham perhaps - or even Bolton’s latest foreign singing (The Brazilian wonder-boy) or possibly even an old horse like say Paulo Di Canio? But I think Ruud will surely be head and shoulders above everyone else.
Here’s what I think the final league table could look like:
***1. Manchester United *
2. Arsenal
3. Newcastle
4. Liverpool **
*5. Chelsea
6. Manchester City *
7. Blackburn Rovers
8. Tottenham Hotspurs
9. Southampton
10. Bolton Wanderers
11. Aston Villa
12. Everton
13. Leicester City
14. Middlesbrough
15. Charlton
16. Fulham
17. Leeds United 18. Wolverhampton Wanserers
19. Portsmouth
20. Birmingham City

But I wonder if they can stand up against the likes of Real, Juventues, Milan...perhaps even Barca and Bayern???

the likes of Real? huh...what has Real done for anyone lately ;) Real is like the Italian national team, a bunch of great individual stars who cant accomplish jack as a team.
why include it in the same list as Juv, barca and Milan
Oh! How come? Oh you mean because there is a Birmingham fan in you? hehe - Though I’m not the only one to think they’ll get relegated - anyway they have the most hated player in the country playing for them errrrrrr…irritating Welsh Robbie Savage - but still I just don’t think they’ll have it in them to stay up this season.
…And of course there is the part of me that does hope they get relegated so I guess I am a little bias.
Manchester City
**12. Birmingham City **(Happy ehsan? :D)
Aston Villa
Charlton
Leeds
Bolton
Portsmouth
Leicester
Fulham
Wolves
Anyway well done to Chelsea on their win and to us(Newcastle United), too but neither performances were convincing and are hardly gonna have the biggest and best sides in Europe shaking in their boots - both were okay performances but nothing spectacular - though they were both away and in small stadiums which had pretty tense atmospheres - the home legs should both be a lot easier and both sides should qualify. As should Celtic with a 4 goal lead - and 4 away goals at that! It will be a little tougher for Rangers and its pretty unlikely that they’ll qualify.
Debutant David Dunn scored the first goal of the Premiership campaign as his penalty handed Birmingham a 1-0 win over toothless Tottenham.
Dunn made the switch from Blackburn to St Andrews in the summer and immediately endeared himself to Blues fans by getting their season off to a flying start.
Spurs chief Glenn Hoddle was a busy man during the summer, splashing out £12m on new strikers - but injury deprived the visitors of Gus Poyet, Freddie Kanoute and Christian Ziege.
That meant Helder Postiga started up front alongside Robbie Keane, with Bobby Zamora on the bench.
But after Steve Bruce’s hosts controlled the opening period with Christophe Dugarry hitting the post and Robbie Savage going close, it was Blues’ new recruit who broke the deadlock.
Spurs defender Anthony Gardner was harshly adjudged to have fouled the lively Savage in the penalty box and got a booking for the offence.
But £5.5m signing Dunn made Gardner feel worse when he confidently stroked home the spot-kick, beating Kasey Keller with ease on 36 minutes.
After the break it was a different story, with the visitors grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and creating a host of chances.
Republic of Ireland star Keane hit the post, while Rohan Ricketts, Dean Marney and Zamora were all denied by solid saves from Maik Taylor.
But the visitors could not make their possession count or convert the flurry of opportunities, and Bruce’s Blues held on to bank all three points on the opening day of the new season.
ehsan - I’m happy for BC that they won first match - and more about Dunn who has made his debut as a match-winner for his team - He made good passes - I think he’s going to be a big player for Birmingham City.
Robbie Keane could have equalized for Tottenham after the break but the ball hit the post with just keeper Maik Taylor to beat.
Manchester United off to a great start by defeating Bolton Wanderers 4-0. :k:
I would post the table and the top scorer’s chart but it is way too early in the Campaign for that yet - Best is to wait at least 3 games - and so far not even every team has played a match yet.
Anyone see Ronaldo play for Utd? There is no doubt in my mind now that Utd will win the league. He truly deserves the great #7 shirt !! The only worry is that Utd need to find a new penalty taker!! 2 misses in a row for Ruud.
Yeah I’ve seen him play Khattana and he’s damn impressive - I’d actually seen him play ages back for Sporting Lisbon and for the under 21 Portuguese side - and I tipped him to be absolutely huge - and he has turned out to be.
As for the pernalty taker well give Ruud a break Khattana - he has scored somewhere near 80 goals already in his United career and is way gone your best player! But I think you do possibly need another striker to partner him - possibly to complete your team - and possibly one more defender.
Just a short post on it here - Real Madrid and Barcalona are both legendry clubs - altogether Real Madrid have won 9 Champions League Trophies to Barcalona’s 6 - but put together they have won 15 which is more than the total amount of every other countrie’s total amount won by all clubs put together i.e. even all the clubs in England who have won the trophy put together still haven’t won it so many times as those 2 - Italy come closer than anyone else though. At the moment Real Madrid are possibly better side - Barcalona actually had quite a poor last season.
I really don’t know what is wrong with Newcastle at the moment - The entire team seem to have no confidence - and there’s no shape to the team - We seem to find it impossible to get behind the defence of the opposition and without being able to do that there’s not a chance of being able to score..
We needed to buy two or three players in the Summer and off-load one or two players who just aren’t good enough - but it’s too late now - We’ve been pathetic lately - I mean come on - losing to Birmingham City - and at home in all! That’s disgraceful!
I think we should have certainly won the game against Manchester United but it was a mind over matter thing - we played well enough in the first half but couldn’t follow it up - we really got too edgy and nervous in the second half.
Chelsea will probably be the toughest side rightnow as they are truly flying at the moment but we’re struggling (though hopefully by then our players will have taken their feet out of their backside’s and have started playing) and Manchester United have a lot of injury worries - Kleberson has dislocated his shoulder and will be out for a fair while and Paul Scholes could be out for a possible 2 months with a hernia problem. Also Nicky Butt has an ankle problem and Rio is also still injured - Sir Alec has a lot to think about.
i think Arsenal is going to be next champion..(although ManU is close too)......and Chelsea has improved under new stars but hav'nt improved that much to be crowned
